British title fights - Least fights to the belt

Post by Josh1111 »

I've just seen Andrew Selby is fighting for the British title in only his 5th fight which got me thinking.

Has anybody won it in less than 5 fights?

Charlie Magri won it in his third fight (i.e. won the title, not a Lonsdale Belt outright) - http://boxrec.com/boxer/42462

There wasn't anyone good enough to challenge him if I remember rightly and I think he was given a honorary Lonsdale belt

Beat me to it. His autobiography isn't a bad read. I never knew he trained Matthew barney
