Carl Thompson was smart old veteran with enough wits and whiskers to let Haye punch himself out. How anyone sees any similarity between Thompson and Martin is a mystery to me.
Joshua will have learned his lesson from the Whyte fight. Martin's a live dog because he's a relatively unknown quantity NOT because he's a HW version of Carl Thompson.

Joshua is like wlad Klitschko v Ross Purity
Pure green and playing to the crowd
So basically Joshua is like a fighter who is going to get stopped by a fighter that neither Joshua nor Martin are any thing like?
I cant help but feel your agenda here is everything but an objective assessment.
Joshua is green and terrified of gassing , Joshua has brought in southpaw sparing partners and keeps getting hit flush ...his only option is to look for the ko and he knows his stamina is limited , this is world class boxing over 12 rounds

Martin is cool as a cat
I was thinking the other way around, Martin seems slow, like his mind is somewhere else, Joshua allmost seemed to help him trying to explain what Martin is thinking in their show last week.

Martin is loose as a goose but Joshua isn't
Given NEITHER has done anything to show they're 'world class' I'd suggest you're talking out of your aris.
At least try and put forth a genuine opinion instead of this tedious substandard attempt at trolling.
Joseph Parker is obviously pretty big here but I have been following AJ as well.
How do you guys think this fight stacks up compared to the Parker v Takam bout. Obviously the AJ fight is for a "world title" but they involve fighters of a similar level and are big steps up for these two young fighters looking to make a splash

Well I think Takam is a bit more proven than either of these guys, all be it he has a couple of losses. I know fornicate all though, and am new here too.
Here's a thread on it though. http://boxrec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=198380

I think you could mix up all 4 fighters and make some great fights, the winners will face each other anyway. I hope AJ and Parker win to set up a clash of the young guns but wouldn't be surprised whoever wins both fights.

While Martin is the guy with the belt and is higher in the BoxRec ratings, I think Takam is the harder opponent and the guy with the best record out of the four (funny saying that seeing as he's the only one with losses, but he has better opposition and better wins than any of the others). I see Parker vs Takam as a 55:45 fight in Parker's favour due to Parker's natural advantages - but Takam's toughness and experience may well be too much for him. I really want Parker to win.
I'm not convinced that Charles Martin is any more dangerous offensively than Dillian Whyte, but he seems better defensively and his southpaw stance could provide Joshua with some difficulties - if he's able to land the left cross often enough it could be a long (or short) night for Joshua. That said, Martin has never faced someone with the strength, punching power of explosiveness of Joshua. I see this one as a 65:35 fight for Joshua and the lower risk of the two, although it's for a higher reward.
Less than 7 days to go , Joshua has talent but can he live with the big players ?
Joshua has never gone past 7 rounds in his pro career , can Martin take him deep ?
To be a champion you have to have substance , history proves this !
Joshua is like an unproven skid mark
To me it is a 50-50 fight, but favor Martin in the upset. Big southpaw with power and great combinations. Joshua is no joke, but how much oxygen to feed the muscles he will need to go late will be the big question. Martin is kind of an unknown fighter, but I like his chances. If he shows a great chin, I think he takes it. Great fight for the heavyweight division, that will go a long way to legitimize this belt.
1) Joshua's amateur and pro resume are both vastly superior to Martin's, so that should favor Joshua.
2) Martin is still almost totally unknown. His best opponent by far hurt their knee. Charles a near total mystery.
3) I usually don't care if the American wins, even though the "Americans lost total control of the HW division HAHA" crowd makes me reflexively more likely to cheer for my fellow American.
4) I'm a bit torn because I like all Great Heavyweights and the best HW prospects out there are Joshua, Parker, and perhaps Huey Fury.
Joshua to win for me. I think he hits too hard for Martin to go the 12.
Martin is a relative unknown in the UK which is why he's the outsider. I'd also add weight to the theory that AJ will win, in that Eddie Hearn would never have taken this fight if he saw it as any kind of risk. Eddie doesn't like risks.
You just have to look at the rest of the card, and it's practically House fighter v Selected Opponent in every bout, even the "World Title" ones.
I hope it turns out to be a decent card, as the PPV for Frampton v Quigg was an embarrassment.

Yup, if Martin has any chance, he has to have a granite jaw because Joshua has excellent power.

I absolutely love Martin's attitude and demeanor coming into this fight. There are some fighters who talk the big game, but deep down they know they will lose, Martin is not one of them. This guy thinks he can win, and I certainly do as well. The only thing I don't really know is whether he can take a punch or not, AJ hits hard, but at the same time Martin is pretty slick.
It is very difficult to know how this fight will pan out. It could be over in a round, it could go all twelve, but I guess that is what makes it the most exciting HW championship fight for years.

I don't see Martin as slick at all. He can put quick combinations together but seems a bit slow on his feet and leaves his chin in the air. I don't think Joshua will have any problems here, and I see an early KO, maybe mid-round depending on how tough Martin is

From what I have watched of Martin, I think he boxes well at range, and can be hard at times to hit. If Joshua can find his chin early, then it could be a quick fight.

Joshua isnt exactly quick on his feet either. He has fast hands in combination himself but also slow feet.
Martin has a lot of flaws, maybe he can improve with time and training but when he throws punches he is too fixed and his punches become arm punches IMO they look like the don't carry power , when he throws his jab he is better, but it is the power shots where he leaves himself very open and I think AJ will capitalise on that, AJ is very fast and very powerful. If Martin has no chin it could be an inside a minute job or as soon as that opportunity opens.
If you discount the win over Glazkov which I think you have too because nothing really happened CM has not beaten anyone of note. Lots of aspects are very unknown with his skills but realistically looking at how he fights he is certainly not text book, he is still learning and unless he gets lucky for a second time I cant see him winning.
