Anthony Joshua's training set-up

Post by lefty »

Who actually is training Joshua? The reason I ask is this week in the build up to the fight, i've seen Hearn say how Joshua had to get off from the open workout to head up to Sheffield to finish up his training. I mean there's been rumours before but is McCracken actually training AJ and Sim's is basically just a front man?

Maybe he's just sparring in Sheffield? I always thought Tibbs but I hadn't the rumours about McCracken.

Yeah Barry Hearn let slip in an interview that McCracken is involved in Joshua's training. Seems a strange set up.

I've said this before but every time he gives an interview it seems like he has about 12 brain cells and even one of those is on the blink. Doesn't seem the sharpest tool in the box.

I've heard plenty of rumours that McCracken is AJ's unofficial trainer.

All I know is, if I was looking to build Joshua in the way that Matchroom is, I would not entrust Simms with the job.

Wouldn't surprise me.

Simms has worked the corner with McCraken so they clearly know eachother well and it makes sense to have a base nearer home rather than relocating fully to Sheffield

Floyd Senior (orthodox only) and Roger are both good on the pads but I doubt either of em will be joining Mensa anytime soon.

He's a multi millionaire ffs, can't the big prick pay for a coach and use facilities that aren't directly funded by the taxpayer (Department for Media, Culture+Sport) and the Lottery which is supposed to contribute to amateur sport not pay for this dickheads red snakeskin fight shorts.

nb - i don't really give a sh*t. Or maybe i do? I'm just a bitter jealous man these days, why can't Stormzy rap me an intro before i make my toast in the morning :verysad:
