x2. The Povetkin fight will prove once and for all if Wilder is real or a phony.
If my memory serves me right, some very similar things were said before he fought Stiverne.
Stiverne beated one subtop fighter in his whole carreer, that pod smoking fatty, I can't remember his name any more. Povetkin swiped out about ten boxers between rank 3 and 20...
No HW in history "swiped out about ten boxers between rank 3 and 20"
You include 40yo, 2y out-of-ring, Larry Donald? 40yo, obese Rahman?? Cruizers Bird, Chambers and Huck(his second best ever)???
Sauerland guys maid an excellent job managing his carreer
we all know the story, but have the victories over Adamek and Helenius helped our view of Wilder's championship reign at all?
Cheers

Absolutely!! I was going to make a similar thread on this same topic, so I'm glad YOU did!!
What's interesting about this situation is that it is very unusual that both perspective-changers happened on the same night & both in Europe!! I noticed it right away & so did a lot of other people.

Takam, Chagaev, Perez, Charr, name them.
Lol, Rahman? He was ranked 60 or so when he fought Povetkin, no clue what you're talking about, Shannon Briggs got a higher ranking as he had at the time. Huck achieved most of his rating in the babyleagues, not in the heavyweight division. Yea on paper he's probably pretty good, but that's like saying David Haye is a good boxer.

You named 4, actually 3 (Charr wasn't top20).
Just checked, Warzwik and Rahman, both ranked ~50-60 (generously) were Povetkin "Championship" fights WBA
Shpilka, Duhaupas and even Molina looks not bad in comparison

Helenius had 3 fights in 2015. You are confused. He took off between 2013 and 2014.
Next excuse........
There is no next excuse. Helenius hasn't looked good since his layoff.

Helenius had never looked good. He was merely facing limited opposition.

I wouldn't disagree with that. I handn't seen Helenius in so long. I forgot how he even looked previously. I think the last fight of his I saw was against Williams. I don't even remember that fight anymore, though.

Just today we have "championship" fight with two guys that never won top20 guy....disgrace.
Today's fight is a good fight, though being for a title is a bit of a farce. But yeah it's not at all uncommon to face ten top twenties.
Truth be told. Charles Martin showed big stones travelling to foreign turf for his first defense, but he's probably not much better than Duhaupas IF he is at all, based on their respective records and quality of opposition. His lack of amateur experience really showed today as well.
Martin never moved his head even a little and his defense was non-existent.

Martin knew he couldn't defend the title against anyone close to legitimate and keep it, so he followed the money trail.
I'd take Duhaupas over Martin easily. Martin suffers from severe lack of skill.
