Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
Joshua looks bigger than ever , I reckon that's why he looks sloppy on the pads , extra weight can throw a fighter s balance out

The buzz for this fight is kicking in
Joshua has a wrecking machine image
the casuals love it

Martin will keep his defence tight for this fight I reckon , I have seen boxers do this before when they step up in classThe Insider wrote:The more I see of Martin the more I think he'll get knocked out. He's not quick enough or light enough on his feet to evade AJs quick thunderous punches. Don't get me wrong I'm no AJ fan boy and think he'll come unstuck soon enough but Martin is made for him. He leaves his chin out and doesn't get his hands back quick enough to block counters. His footwork is pretty shocking too. His Southy stance may bamboozle AJ for a minute or two but I think when Joshua hits him it's lights out. I'm not confident enough to bet on the result but if see this as a massive upset if Martin won.
Can't wait for the first Bell , the weigh in should be interesting as well

i'd love to see martin get the upset
but for me, i don't think hes the man to beat joshua.

Honestly a loss could be the best thing for AJ, if he can't recover he never had it in him to be a great fighter, and it'll be good motivation to focus on his flaws, and work on them.

Who is reffing the fight? Hope it`s not some guy who jumps in a the first sign of trouble, otherwise I can see a controversial early stoppage in Joshua`s favor.
I expect Aj to take him out early though, Martin`s southpaw style will be made for the overhand right. That said, Joshua has no track record against southpaws as a pro and from all accounts struggled with them as an amateur, so will be an interesting one.

It is clear that they are both untested, but I'm thinking Hearn picked the wrong fight. They chose this fight because they think it's safe and an easy path to a title. So watching the opposite happen will be nice.

Got to give it to Joshua his fights are becoming major events, biggest hw draw for a long time
I think Martin is going to do him and ruin the party though

A lot of people have posted that prediction , Joshua fights like a pit bull from the first bell , he could blow his wad , Joshua is under massive pressure in this fight
Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
Excluding Glazkov's bum knee, Joshua and Martin have a combined best win over Dillian Whyte. Potentially world class I would give you, but actual world class? I don't think being a realist and not being taken in by a shiny belt and a bucket of hype is even approaching 'ridiculous'.Starboxer wrote:You call me troll for for calling the Joshua fight world class boxing ? Joshua is green and terrified of gassing , Joshua has brought in southpaw sparing partners and keeps getting hit flush ...his only option is to look for the ko and he knows his stamina is limited , this is world class boxing over 12 rounds
Martin is loose as a goose but Joshua isn't
At least try and put forth a genuine opinion instead of this tedious substandard attempt at trolling.
, you should write a letter to Eddie. Hearn and sky to complain

There seems to be many ways to beat Martin.
Joshua looks to have every front covered.

Despite all that this has become a VERY INTRIGUING MATCH. Because of Joshua. HEY! He was Olymp. gold recently! 0nly 15 matches. Martin credit for talking as he do! I pick the English and LOOKING to wage a $280.00 bet..Taki... wrote:Excluding Glazkov's bum knee, Joshua and Martin have a combined best win over Dillian Whyte. Stylewise it looks like a walk in the park for Joshua unless I'm missing something.
Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
Trouble with southpaws is one.. AJ finally meeting a guy with the same size, reach, and athletic ability you couple that with a style problem that could go wrong in a hurry. I think it's going to be Martin's left hand vs. Joshua's right hand, and someone is getting stopped.Evander wrote:Stylewise it looks like a walk in the park for Joshua unless I'm missing something.
Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
^ I'll find it hard to believe they didn't cover southpaw, it was the first thing I saw in Martin.
Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
Charles Martin shocked the world by beating Vyacheslav Glazkov for title and he will shock the world once more, tonight.
Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
It's not something you can just " cover" lol. Put it this way. Martin has likely been fighting against orthodox fighters forever. AJ has likely faced southpaws a fraction of that time. And every indication has been that he struggles with it. The habits you develop against right handers can be your undoing against a lefty.Evander wrote:^ I'll find it hard to believe they didn't cover southpaw, it was the first thing I saw in Martin.

I love that this fight is totally unknown. My personal projection is that AJ walks right through him, but both fighters are so unproven that any ending is possible.
It's a very exciting fight!

Anything could happen today. Martin is more dangerous than Hearn gives him credit for. That said, Joshua could win by KO 1.
Whether or not this should be for a belt (not), I am happy that it is happening and I respect Martin for going after it. I believe that Joshua will win but Martin is going to make him earn it.

Agree with the above. I have mixed feelings because I HATE split up titles but it does somethings create the good fights.
Otherwise Browne wouldn't be fighting Chagaev, or Martin fighting Glaskov and Joshua or Povetkin fighting Wilder. They'd all be fighting Byron Polly. No disrespect to Byron Polly but you get my point.
Al Bernstein years ago said something like, "It doesn't matter for what title, it matters the caliber of the fight."

Re: Charles Martin v Anthony Joshua
TBH I think Joshua seems to have a tiny bit more fat as he had last fight, and nevertheless he actually lost weight between then and now.
I still think Joshua will win this match easely, but in my opinion he seems less fit as he used to be.
