Good news. Glad it's over here. What venue do you reckon? MEN or a stadium?wesshaw1985 wrote:fight will happen in Manchester, venue to be announced at a later date - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing ... ester.html

Do you think they'll fill that or even close? Who is promoting/helping to promote the fight? Is Hearn involved again?wesshaw1985 wrote:Furys always mentioned wanting to fight at Old Trafford, its possible...Stuarty30 wrote:Good news. Glad it's over here. What venue do you reckon? I'm not sure to be honest.Stuarty30 wrote:Do you think they'll fill that or even close? Who is promoting/helping to promote the fight? Is Hearn involved again?wesshaw1985 wrote:Furys always mentioned wanting to fight at Old Trafford, its possible...Stuarty30 wrote:

I think Fury is looking to fight the Martin/Joshua winner next and regain his IBF Title.
So with that in mind I feel he would work with Hearn to promote the fight and put it on Sky Sports PPV. If Hearn gets behind it I feel they could have a good chance of doing big numbers in a stadium.
I've also heard talks that this fight could be part of W@rrens first move into Sky PPV.
But W@rren is a distant number 2 in terms of promotion unfortunately and I doubt theyd get anywhere near filling a stadium let alone the M.E.N with him running things.
Its going to be interesting to see how this plays out...
Re: Tyson Fury (c) vs. Wladimir Klitschko 2 - July 9th 2016
Ah glad it's finally done! We start looking forward to the fight now and counting down the days. I expect a much less circus like build up though.
I'd expect they'd go stadium, maybe the Etihad, good venue for outdoor events. Interestingly though, it's the same date Hearn wanted to make the Brook super fight at Wembley, so they'll have to re-think that one!

I wouldn't mind getting a ticket & making a weekend of this, hope it doesn't sell-out within 45 seconds like Matchroom shows do.
Re: Tyson Fury (c) vs. Wladimir Klitschko 2 - July 9th 2016
I'd expect that it'd be easier to get stadium tickets then arena tickets. A lot more tickets on offer, and a lot more cheaper tickets in the stands. Do stadium matches usually sell out?
Re: Tyson Fury (c) vs. Wladimir Klitschko 2 - July 9th 2016
Won't happen in a million years but a decent title fight for Brook on the undercard would be great seeing as it's going to be ppv.Rob3_142 wrote:Ah glad it's finally done! We start looking forward to the fight now and counting down the days. I expect a much less circus like build up though.

Also never going to happen but what about AJ v Haye as chief support, winners face off?SNG wrote:Won't happen in a million years but a decent title fight for Brook on the undercard would be great seeing as it's going to be ppv.Rob3_142 wrote:Ah glad it's finally done! I thought the two went hand in hand? he was probably involved in some capacity. If he wasn't he was certainly hanging around a lot. Was it not him who won the purse bids on Sky's behalf?ste1983 wrote:Wasn't involved the first time was he? Sky where, Hearn not.Stuarty30 wrote:Do you think they'll fill that or even close? It didn't go to purse bids; there was a deal done minutes before. Warren wasn't happy as he was expecting to win the bid, but Mick did a deal with K2 just before the deadline.Stuarty30 wrote:I thought the two went hand in hand? he was probably involved in some capacity. Hearn was supposed to provide the undercard but it fell through when Brook got injured, but then still wanted to get a cut of the PPV profits to put on a rearranged show. There's a Peter Fury rant on IFL about it which explains the situation (or at least, his version of events).MarkMcBurney wrote:It didn't go to purse bids; there was a deal done minutes before. Correct. Not purse bids though.Boxerbeetle wrote:Hearn was supposed to provide the undercard but it fell through when Brook got injured, but then still wanted to get a cut of the PPV profits to put on a rearranged show. You can almost guarantee it'll be on Sky PPV. Hearn has already said that will likely be the case, as that's where the most money will be.Stuarty30 wrote:wasn't sure. I remember reading him saying he was preparing a bid. Reason I am asking is just to try and get an idea of what channel it'll be on.

Makes sense. About the size i'd expect the fight to fill.
I see Fury winning on points again. Carbon copy of the first fight I reckon.
Re: Tyson Fury (c) vs. Wladimir Klitschko 2 - July 9th 2016
Same weekend as Wimbledon final, British Grand Prix and the Euro 2016 final according to BBC. Great weekend of sport.

Tv companies don't win the purse bids promoters do?? It didn't go to bids K2 promoted the event after doing a deal with Hennesey just before due to go to bids.Stuarty30 wrote:I thought the two went hand in hand? he was probably involved in some capacity. If you mean didn't Hearn win the tv rights on Sky's behalf, I think he claimed to have something to do with it but that was rubbished by the Fury's and Hennesey.

Sky sports PPV. Don't forget George Warren runs Sky PPV. Amazed how that channel that was going to bring the Sky sports monster to its knees hasn't quite worked out in the way they were making out during their smirking interview.Rob3_142 wrote:You can almost guarantee it'll be on Sky PPV. The day before the final of Euro 2016.
Be great if it was England Ukraine meeting on July 10th, wouldn't it
200-1 at the bookies. Get your money on.
