Oh, I agree with your assessment of those fights. I just think he pulled himself back together for the Calzaghe fight but was soundly out-fought when he *was* giving his all. The writing on the wall couldn't have been plainer for him then.gilgamesh wrote:Glen Johnson and Tarver 3 proved that. Roy Jones didn't even try to win at any point in either of those fights...2004 and 2005 respectively.squiggy wrote:Calzaghe well and truly proved that RJJ was done at top level, and that was a decade of pointless fights ago.

Very much beaten, excuses about weight drop/gain is just BS. Jones was fundamentally flawed on defense which is why he had such a horrible downfall.
He never gave Toney a fair chance to train for him for their bout, 4 weeks is not enough of a training camp, he beat a somewhat green BHop as far as pedigree and training is concerned and it took 10 years of ducking BHop before he finally grew enough nuts to face him and we saw how easily Hopkins beat him which is what I believe would've happened after Nard destroyed Trinidad had they met then.
Personally I wasn't that impressed with Jones beating up on cab drivers, grocery store stockers because when he met someone on his level at LHW he got his @$$ handed to him.
Beaten, very beaten

They need to crack down on drug cheats. Just look at Terper, been caught twice I believe yet somehow both fights the result still stands? Ridiculous.
Wipe their past record clean, destroy their legacy and then maybe some will think twice before using PEDs.

In a boxing match? Of course mma fight he would get tooled man get ur head out ur assmagwitch wrote:Someone...can’t remember who but think it may have been on here, said Roy was the perfect fighting machine (prime). A DQ while he was ahead on all scorecards. He smoked the guy in one round next time.
He never really lost a fight until his 51st tiff. I think he was 35 or 36 at he time.

Go to bed if Roy grew up in today's era and did mma from when he was a kid he'd be the equivalent to mma of what he is to boxing he's an amazing athlete but to put him In a no holds barred situation where the guy is skilled at grappling and kickboxing to Roy is just skilled at boxing only a retard says Roy wins just the kickboxing alone would tear Roy upmagwitch wrote:In a combat situation. Re: I Still View As Roy As Being Unbeaten
What the hell is Roy gonna do when he kicks him in the legs and he falls Roy dosent know how to block kicks and nether is his legs conditioned for kicks like a kickboxers legs are and once Roy falls and the mma fighter goes on the ground with Roy he's fucked picture it this way Roy on the ground with a mma fighter is like Roy boxing someone on the street walking out of a store or what's Roy gonna do when they clinch up ? and the mma guy puts Roy in the Muay Thai clinch and knees and elbows him to death Roy has no idea how to defend the Thai clinch or if he grabs his legs and dumps him on his head fight over just the impact from the fall if a high level wrestler picks you up and slams you someone with no experience in wrestling dosent know how to fall fight over
