Who has got more chance against Fury?
I think Deontay Wilder is much harder matchup for Tyson Fury.
Re: Who has got more chance against Fury?
Don't know, but after Povetkin knocks out Wilder they won't be talking about Wilder vs Fury anymore.

I think Joshua would destroy him. Wilder is a 50/50 fight.

Povetkin is an easy fight for Wilder. Keep dreaming about this small Russian bum
Re: Who has got more chance against Fury?
We'll have a much better idea after tonight. If Joshua can't deal with Martin he has no chance against Fury
If he wins? I don't think I'll have learnt much other than Martin isn't world level, which is what I think anyway.
If Wilder beats Povetkin in Russia it will also have a huge bearing on how I think Deontay would fare against Fury.
Right now, I think both lose to Tyson

Can I answer this after the Povetkin and Martin fights?

Szpilka was an easy fight for him too, but he was losing on my card at the time of the KO, and Povetkin is significantly better than Szpilka and hits harder.conty22 wrote:gilgamesh wrote:Don't know, but after Povetkin knocks out Wilder they won't be talking about Wilder vs Fury anymore.

Wilder has very obvious flaws that a guy like Povetkin will be able to take advantage of.

Keep dreaming. Szpilka was Tyson Fury wannabie with a good head movement and jab.
Povetkin has no jab, no head movement and no defence.
Fury got knocked down by Cunninham and rocked badly by Firtha , does that mean something? He still schooled Grabimir like no one before with hands behind his back

You had Szpilka ahead of Wilder? I was at that fight and had Wilder ahead. True, I had like 7 beers.

Wilder blocked almost every Szpilka's shots and landed more clean and powerfull punches. If he was losing so badly , why his family did not show any signs? They were happy with no stress because they knew Wilder was winning
Re: Who has got more chance against Fury?
Yes, well ahead. Wilder didn't land many significant punches in the fight, and Szpilka was outboxing him.Tony1244 wrote:gilgamesh wrote:Szpilka was an easy fight for him too, but he was losing on my card at the time of the KO, and Povetkin is significantly better than Szpilka and hits harder.conty22 wrote:

Re: Who has got more chance against Fury?
It was a slow paced fight. It's not like Szpilka was beating the hell out of him or nothing, he was just outlanding him, and outboxing him. It was very subtle, but it was happening.conty22 wrote:Tony1244 wrote:gilgamesh wrote:

I'd have to watch it again, but I did have Wilder ahead. Szpilka may have won a couple rounds. But no neither of us agree with the guy that had Szpilka ahead. While Povetkin may have a better resume than the Polish fighter, Szpilka probably is harder to hit than Povetkin.

I do not think that Povetkin has tools to beat any decent or average tall fighter with power and speed. He has no head movement , no jab and his defence is very poor.
Szpilka was actualy a copycat of Tyson Fury and you saw that this boxing style worked very well even against Wladimir :)
Re: Who has got more chance against Fury?
Wilder's accuracy is sh*t against higher level pros. Ever since he's won the title he has a hard time landing his shots on guys, and Povetkin will be the best fighter he's fought by a wide margin.
You keep saying Povetkin has no defense, and no head movement, but watch him outland Wilder 3 punches to 1 when they fight and remember what I said.
Povetkin KO 6

He landed very well against Stiverne and Dohoupas. Povetkin has similiar defence to those two rofl. He is coming forward with zero defence :)
Easy fight for Wilder. Fury would school Povetkin with one hand as well.

Well there's nothing more to be said about it. May 21st we'll have our answer.conty22 wrote:gilgamesh wrote:Wilder's accuracy is sh*t against higher level pros. Will you agree that your predictions were wrong if Povetkin loses or will you make excuses like "Povetkin was too small" "Povetkin was past his prime" ?:D

Going into the first Bermane Stiverne vs Chris Arreola fight I said with the utmost confidence that Arreola was gonna win, and it was a surefire slam dunk pick. When Arreola lost, I put up a gif of a guy missing a slam dunk. I can be wrong sometimes, but I'm pretty confident in this pick.
If Wilder wins it's because he's better than I thought he was, not because Povetkin is too small.
The question is: What are you gonna say if you're wrong?

Re: Who has got more chance against Fury?
I'd have to rewatch the Szpilka fight, but I remember Wilder having issues with him. Especially early on. However, Szpilka already had a reputation for being tough with a good beard coming into the bout. And I feel he was extremely hyped up for this fight and most likely had the performance of his life. IIRC, I believe I had Wilder up at the time of the stoppage, but not by much.
There are a lot of factors that come into each fight. Like, I believe Wilder will be more "up" for the Povetikin fight than he was for the Szpilka one. Not sure who will win, but am leaning towards Wilder. He has shown that he can fight a very disciplined fight behind a nice, long jab against Bermane.
Fury is different story. He is sloppy, but effective. ANd longer than Wilder...I believe. I'd pick Fury, root Wilder.
Joshua will most likely be the one to rule the division and beat all comers... including the Cuban.

Re: Who has got more chance against Fury?
First off how Wilder beats Povetkin(which he will do) had no bearing on his chances of beating Fury. Fury is like 6'6" where as Povetkin is like 5'9". They also pose very different styles, they fight absolutely nothing alike. So what the hell does beating Povetkin prove when it comes to Wilders chances against Fury? What I see when I look at the Wilder/Fury match up is 2 guys close to same size with Fury being filled in more and Wilder being the more athletic. I would favor Wilder and don't really thing Fury had that good of a chance at all.
I haven't seen enough of Joshua to give a opinion on.. But if he's not fast, doest have a great deal of size (including height) I doubt he poses much of a threat to Fury.. Even if Joshua looks spectacular this weekend means little to nothing because hes not fighting Fury.. Seems alot of people have forgotten then saying that "styles make fight". I always hear people saying well it depends on how he does against so and so before I can gauge how he'd do against so and so. Styles make fights people.

I honestly think Povetkin is the hardest fight for Fury.
