Definitely more nuthuggers and fanboys these days. I can't see the point of getting bent out of shape unless there's nastiness involved though.

For the most part I don't I mind the trolls, hyper merchants and general f__kabouters, during slow times it makes it entertaining.
Yes sometimes they go a bit far and over the top, but it's bearable as long as most of them know where to draw the line and understand that some threads they should opt out of and ply their trade in a more appropriate and fitting thread for their means.
It goes up down and can depend on what's happening in the sport, sometimes it's just slow and there aren't any big significant even matches going on and that can foster shenanigans, water off a ducks back to me and I just get on with it and wait for the next installment :D

I'm not asserting that we create a safe space away from the harshness of reality, I'm only asking; do we want to see the most knowledgable boxing site on the web turn into a joke forum? Because that's where we're heading.
The pissing contests seem to be contested by the same few who only know enough about boxing to make nuisances of themselves and are not knowledgeable enough to be capable of debating anything sensibly anyway.

Perhaps there should be a sub-forum where you need to have an IQ less than 40 to be eligible to post?

I don't come here often, and I'm new to here. Still, I can't believe the thread titled "Golovkin is a coward" isn't deleted or locked.

Go to boxingforum24, and you will see similar threads daily. Here, it is an exceptional case when somebody forgot to take their meds.

Hey, g'day mate, how are you? I agree, this site is an awesome site but this CS forum is the laughing stock of the boxing forum world due to crap like that. There seems to be a couple of fuckwit posters allowed to get away with posting threads like that under multiple aliases and just turn this place into a joke. I used to post here regularly but found that actual fighters would get banned for firing back at trolls and wind-up artists yet imbeciles would get away with absolute rubbish like that. I rarely post in here any more and with seeing multiple threads like that allowed open on the front page then I might just leave again, although I do see that one pest poster, Brut, has had one of his current alt. accounts banned, so that's a good sign.

That sounds fornicating terrible then. Shit, I'm missing the old forum already.

Wait, I thought I was drunk there for a minute until I clicked edit. Who the hell says poo? There is no cussing on this forum? They call the sh** poo :OhYes: .

There really is not a ton going on in boxing to be fair. I think some of the posters know their stuff but there are just not enough big fights. Not the forum posters faults.

Boxing Forums have pretty much been dead for over a decade. Boxec is an outstanding website, but its forum has always well :brick:

All the good Boxing Forums fizzled out pretty much with Boxing itself. You can blame the Klit Brothers for holding the HW Belts Hostage over in Germany, and I'm even a bit of a fan, but you can blame, to a much higher degree, the bewildering manufacturing of "Money Mayweather" from what was "PBF".

HBO'S 24/7 AKA The Mayweathers which was similar to MTV's The Osbournes for quite a few years can be blamed for boxing's decline along with the rise of MMA around 2003 with PrideFC then in 2005 when the UFC finally started to turn things around.

Youngsters can spew all the Mayweather worship they want, but for those of us that lived and breathed Boxing before & during PBF's career know that he handpicked opponents and ALWAYS made sure he had every advantage possible against the legend or high-level name he was fighting from everything to the opponent being on the obvious decline to the size of the Ring. The worst part about that illiterate loudmouth is how on his "Reality Show" with his stuttering, mumbling Father and toothless Uncle is how he always said stuff like, "I'm gonna ice dat mutha phucka.' then run and put on some of the most actionsless, boring Boxing Matches ever then when being booed heavily screaming, "Dat's Boxing".

In one episode of "The Mayweathers" years ago, he kept lifting the back of his shirt while referring to himself as "The Silverback"

I could've sworn I posted here at least a few times :oo all those years ago, but maybe I joined when I knew all the other Message Boards were on their way out then my life took off like a bat out of hell.

Anybody here ever post back in the late 90's through maybe 2000 or possibly 2001 on a Message Board (we use to call them Message Boards instead of Forums) called "Boxing Wise"? Oh..the good old days.

Good points but the Klits would fight anyone it is not there fault that America had no one to compete against them for the most part. So American's said oh the HW division sucks. No it does not it is that the HW division sucks in the USA.

Still got some good boxing minds. It's just too polluted with posters with agendas... That makes it unfriendly territory for good boxing debate. I'm sure lots of the hardcore boxing fans stay away from that type of BS so it's to the detriment of Boxrec. But Boxrec is FAR FAR from being the worse of the more popular forums. It's quiter than boxingforum24 let's say but less polluted.

Let's face it it's not a small private forum so it will always have lots of trolls.

Still enjoy posting here for the hardcore fans who sometimes take the time to comment.

The forum has taken a dive along in some opinions which would coincide with boxing in America itself. The international talent that is greater than the talent in the US for the first time in boxing history has bothered Americans to no end. If Americans were doing great in the sport it would be a happier forum for sure.

I don't think it has anything to do with how America is doing in boxing. This forum has taken a dive. The trolls are in abundance and usually not funny. If you make a wrong pick in a fight, you are usually bashed by some idiot that's picked the last 72 fights wrong. I'm all for different opinions, but there comes a point where an opinion is so far fetched, it's just idiotic. Too many pissing contests usually between the same bunch. Most people that were part of the sport in some facet don't post here anymore. Just overall, the boxing knowledge is down.

The boxing forum here isn't really any different than choosing and picking which TV shows to watch or what music to listen to.

In all 3 cases, there is a lot more crap than substance.

You've just got to pick and choose what you like. When I come across stupid comments or pissing contests, I usually keep reading till I find substance.

Maybe only 20%-30% of posts are substantive and I enjoy those.

I'm American and most of my favorite fighters aren't. I think Lancenix overestimates how much Americans care about whether or not there are American Champions.

I could give a damn where you're from honestly. I like a fighter based on how he fights. Where you're from doesn't make much difference to me, and obviously that's the case with a lot of people. Which is why GGG and Kovalev are pretty big draws here in the U.S.
