Thats where I stand. I never thought about multiple accounts been a problem. Get rid of vile trolling and million parallel threads and everything would be fine.Boxing Prospect wrote:No. However they should clamp down on obvious trolling.
should boxrec actively prevent multiple accounts?

Re: should boxrec actively prevent multiple accounts?
..I have no problem with those having multiple accounts or against banter and occasional trolling (not to confuse with massive and excessive trolling) ...what I can't stand is name calling usually coming from the same posters...
Re: should boxrec actively prevent multiple accounts?
If I were a betting man, I would bet that Ricky and Ikorelev were someone else before coming back after Floyd beat Canelo, when they lost a bet and had to leave. Floyd beat Canelo September of 13, about the time both joined. Just a guess. Not a multiple account, just a new one.
Re: should boxrec actively prevent multiple accounts?
So, how much are you willing to bet ? I was not a boxrec member ever before I joined. If I was, I wouldn't be so stupid to include my last name in the user id. I thought that a user id is just for login, and I could have an alias for the forum or at least be able to change a user id later.Badhusker wrote:If I were a betting man, I would bet that Ricky and Ikorelev were someone else before coming back after Floyd beat Canelo, when they lost a bet and had to leave. turB gets the hook, again?
Not to be a turB level conspiracy theorist, but, has anyone else ever suspected the Floydiot of possibly enlisting the students that he babysits to start troll accounts here?
We all know the obvious suspects who he tends to defend quickly and massage their egos, and they reciprocate.

The only thing he ever did that actually pissed me off in real life was to post a pic of his students online in a public forum. That's illegal. I told him to take it down, no idea if he did or not. Very immature and possible dangerous thing to do.

That incident is exactly what spawned my suspicions.punchoutsb wrote:I really hope not.Tanzio wrote:turB gets the hook, again?![]()

Re: should boxrec actively prevent multiple accounts?
I've been accused of using multiple accounts by various users who simply disagreed with my opinion(s). Speculation doesn't lead to anything but negativity.
I've seen posters provoked to the point that saw them banned. There's a difference, not always easily identifiable, between trolling and plain annoying.
I'd always err on the side of stowing the ban hammer until, or if, things turn nasty.

The only way to do it would be if people had to pay for their account, maybe it's not such a bad idea ![[icon_wink.gif] ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)
