That wasn't a great performance at all. Selby was hurt a fair few times there. He needs to work on his defence in close. The ref was a cock.Neil Gee wrote:Great performance by Selby & entertaining to watch. Hunter never looked like nailing Selby again once he was properly warmed up. Think Hunter's previous dqs were on the ref's mind.

Yes it's a shame because he was terrified the homeboy might lose, so was stepping all over the American at every opportunity.expe wrote:Missed most of the fight but Marcus McDonnell poor again?
I think he was more shocked by the knockdown than Selby.
Now over to wooden top Ed Robinson
Re: Joshua v Martin RBR
Selby UD. Hunter is a bit of a tool but talented. Doesn't match work rate with his obvious talent.

Re: Joshua v Martin RBR
116-111 Selby on my card, great recovery from the early KD ,Hunter def has some skills and he can take a punch but he wasnt busy enough and only had success with single punches and his attitude will hinder his career especially at this level
Re: Joshua v Martin RBR
Same. Lots of issues that clearly need addressed in training.crusader wrote:I thought it was a meh performance.Neil Gee wrote:Great performance by Selby

He's been poor for a while now, some questionable performance both as referee and as a judge.MightyWarrior wrote:Yes it's a shame because he was terrified the homeboy might lose, so was stepping all over the American at every opportunity.expe wrote:Missed most of the fight but Marcus McDonnell poor again?

Yeh and fair play to Selby for doing all the work in this fight and doing enough to stay champion.

He knows a lot about boxing and has been in the business all his life, but his presentation skills are simply awful. He has been at Sky for 15 or more years, and I think that it's just that he hung around so long it would be more expensive to make him redundant than try to train him to be a presenter!I have never seen anyone on TV so unnatural and awkward.... At least Ortis Dealey had some enthusiasm!

He's been a laughing stock among me and my mates for years to be honest. Seems to think that talking like a robot is the best way to present on TV. The awkward looks to the camera and the robot voice crack us up.
Being a nice guy is fine, but it's hardly a pre requisite for TV presenting!

He has his Dad's stance.
Re: Joshua v Martin RBR
Saw enough in 2 minutes to see why they didn't want him fighting Keleher, he'd have got beat. Also seen the results of the work he did with Hatton in the footwork up close, moved around the opponent well.Boxing Prospect wrote:...well...Benn's pretty effing open...
