How did you feel about men the calibre of Michael Bentt popping up on the 'former world heavyweight champs' stats last night? Granted Bentt beat a more dangerous man than Charles Martin, but the WBO wasn't a serious title in the 1990s.
Henry Akinwande, Herbie Hide - who ever considered these men heavyweight champs? Ray Mercer, very good fighter, but again his winning the WBO belt was seen as a prelude to challenging for the actual world title.
It seemed to these eyes like a load of chancers muddying up the heavyweight title's glorious heritage. Men who beat Joe Frazier and Sonny Liston losing spots to men who beat Jeremy Williams and Michael Bentt? What the Sam Langford were Sky thinking!?

Re: SKY'S STATS LAST NIGHT
People who know the sport know such names don't belong on the list. Don't worry so much about it.

Re: SKY'S STATS LAST NIGHT
I think it's even worse because the majority watching don't understand it! Michael Bentt won the heavyweight title in fewer fights than Mike Tyson? Michael Moorer was elite class, but no one said he was the first man since Muhammad Ali to win the heavyweight title three times when he beat Schulz. They're tainting the accomplishments of great man while confusing boxing history. And for what exactly?
