He needs a hell of a undercard to sell that out.

Makubu isn't well enough known for the casual and even Eddie can't spin a Congolese heavy handed fighter to headline a 30k fight in Liverpool.

Really hope sense prevails and it ends up in the echo.

With Warren announcing Liam Smith in Liverpool on June 4th I doubt this will go ahead, at least not on that date

The only time Bellew will be at a sold out Goodison is when he's watching the match.

I've not seen the film yet and I saw an interview with him saying 'I've already defended my title successfully at Goodison but that was in the movies, I want to do it in real life'. Cheers for ruining the film for me Tony you feckin muppet!

There was talk of putting three of the Smith brothers (Callum, Paul and Stephen) as support, but Stephen has got his title shot stateside that's probably sunk that. Maybe David Price could be on it as well with the relationship Handsome Eddie Hearn has with the Sauerlands we could have a Price's homecoming bout on there (even though Price is a Kopite).

If both shows go ahead then Liam Smith's fighting the same night, which would rule his brothers and any other Gallagher fighters out.

Well Scott Quigg is already ruled out with broken jaw, Anthony Crolla would have fought Israel Carroso in early May, and assumptions by he gets past Carroso, probably won't be ready to go until early August allowing for a week or two off and a full camp. Stepping out of the Gallagher stable who could be put on it?

Well Eddie Hearn has got to get a move on to put a cracking under card to make us cough the usual fee then.

There seems to be a youth football tournament on May 29, not boxing. Could just be a random date chosen for the application, which can be moved

For some reason I am imagining a goodison park bill with bellew headlining

The night is going swimmingly until around 10pm when a problem with the electricity means all the lights go out.

The wags comment on how of all the things they might have expected of a card involving tony bellew, a lack of 'POWAAAAH' wasn't among them.
