I want to see Joshua/Wilder

Post by punchoutsb »

This is the heavyweight fight I want to see most of all.

I don't care if the winner is considered "the man" or if it's for legitimate titles or not. This is the number one fight I want to see at the weight class.

What makes you say that.

I can't see it going the distance, but we'd get our monies worth for sure.

My preference would be to see Fury fight the Wilder - Povetkin winner while Joshua gets tested more properly against Ortiz, the Pulev - Chisora winner, the Parker - Takam winner, or David Haye. Joshua against the Fury - Wilder / Povetkin winner about 10-15 months from now. Of course, most of these fighters have a difficult path ahead of them in the near future, and deserve some time off or soft touches after fighting career-best opposition. Also, I would like to add that Charles Martin was far from an appropriate test for Joshua. Martin only briefly entered the top 30 because some other guy twisted his knee and forfeited.

Fury is 27, Wilder is 30 and Joshua is 26.

Most of the other top heavies are old and wont be on the scene long.

Fury, Wilder and AJ have age on there side and none have significant wear and tear

I reckon even if we got Fury vs Joshua. Unless one or the other gets destroyed and exposed as a fraud, they will come again, same with Wilder vs Povetkin, if Deontay gets beaten in a decent fight and looks competitive, there's nothing to say he won't come again.

I have no doubt we have plenty more years and plenty of opportunities to0 see these 3 guys mix it at the top level.
The fact that they are all well known fighters with plenty hype and marketability means it would take a real career nose-dive for one of them to drop entirely out of the title mix. And they'll all be happy to meet each other again if the money's right

It's great for the division and I want to see all of them fight one another at some point, could all be about timing.

It's the best and probably the biggest financially but not the biggest in terms of stakes; Fury would have to be involved for that.

I'm now hoping Wilder beats Povetkin so we can see Wilder/Joshua and Fury/Parker and the winners of those two matches (most likely Joshua/Fury) fight after that. Would be some extremely compelling and fun matchups.

Agreed; it's the one fight I want to see in the HW division above all others.

The buildup would be good too because Wilder is quite a charismatic & engaging guy.

The fight would most likely be in England & although Joshua would be the man that we all want to win, I think Wilder could charm a few of the Brit fans too.

Assuming Wilder gets Povetkin I want to see it too,and Eddie Hearn has a good relationship with Al Haymon so can see it happening plus it gives Joshua stateside exposure as well.

I really hope Ortiz gets in the mix too, before he is too old. He may be the best out of all of them, who knows.
