Warren makes interesting offer
Warren makes interesting offer
Just watched latest interview with Frank and he offered to match Tete with Jamie McDonnell on a Matchroom card and said he would pay Tete's purse. Dont think you can get much fairer than that to be honest. Jamie wants a proper fight and thats a cracking match.

Interesting. Sounds like a good deal for all involved. Hopefully they can get it sorted. I'd strongly favour Tete but I've written McDonnell off a few times before...

Hasn't McDonnell got to fight Payano next?GlobalBox wrote:Just watched latest interview with Frank and he offered to match Tete with Jamie McDonnell on a Matchroom card and said he would pay Tete's purse. Think so. I'm sure Tete was supposed to be fighting for an interim title too.Horse wrote:Hasn't McDonnell got to fight Payano next?GlobalBox wrote:Just watched latest interview with Frank and he offered to match Tete with Jamie McDonnell on a Matchroom card and said he would pay Tete's purse. i think he may well have to, its dragged on a bit now and also thinking about it dont think Tete is ranked in the WBA top 15, so it will probably be a no go anyway.Horse wrote:Hasn't McDonnell got to fight Payano next?GlobalBox wrote:Just watched latest interview with Frank and he offered to match Tete with Jamie McDonnell on a Matchroom card and said he would pay Tete's purse. Re: Warren makes interesting offer
Sounds like they've all got a problem. For Frank, Tete might be good enough to take McDonnell's title but it would cost more than the price of McDonnell's purse to find out. For Eddie, will Joshua remain content to effectively pay McDonnell's purses in future?
Re: Warren makes interesting offer
You sure he didn't mean he'd pay Tete's purse from the Butler fight in March 2015? Only joking, of course he didn't.GlobalBox wrote:Just watched latest interview with Frank and he offered to match Tete with Jamie McDonnell on a Matchroom card and said he would pay Tete's purse. It's a cracking fight though.
Re: Warren makes interesting offer
I've only seen Tete once, when he KO'd the Chester lad. He and McDonnell would be an intriguing affair. I'd have to back McDonnell on points at this point.GlobalBox wrote:Just watched latest interview with Frank and he offered to match Tete with Jamie McDonnell on a Matchroom card and said he would pay Tete's purse. Also wants Langford vs. Macklin in Birmingham...
Re: Warren makes interesting offer
Hearn's already said that the fight won't happen. Not that they can do it if the money's right or anything like that, just not happening. He knows what would happen if that fight got made.

No way Hearn lets Tete anywhere near Mcdonnell.
Tete needs to go down the mandatory route for a title. He's too good for the revenue he brings to the table.

Re: Warren makes interesting offer
McDonnell has bigger fights available against Payano, Yamanaka, Moreno and Haskins; which all seem doable.
Why would he want to fight Tete unless he has to?

Another to add to the long list of Wazza offers made - where even he knows there's zero chance of having his bluff called.
If he were a car salesman he'd offer you £150k for you K reg mini provided you bought an L reg one off him for £250k.
Hot air.

Tete was linked to Zhakiyanov not too long ago, that'd be an easier fight to make

That sounds like a good deal to me, mate. Where's his dealership?Parson Cross wrote:Another to add to the long list of Wazza offers made - where even he knows there's zero chance of having his bluff called.

True but the only realistic one for me seems to be Payano. Hopefully (slim chance)Haskins can do a job on Yamanaka in the summer to force them to fight.Horse wrote:McDonnell has bigger fights available against Payano, Yamanaka, Moreno and Haskins; which all seem doable.
