He probably was, doesn't change his general mental state all that much or the situation he was in.

watch the clip mate, heckler shouts Put him in a straitjacket, tysons turned to the crowd and the rant begins 'put your mother in a straitjacket', i think it was, the whole rant is at the heckler.SNG wrote:It's right after he tackled Lewis and bit him isn't it?Counter-puncher wrote:But he was shouting at the heckler in the crowd?

I really don't know what point you're making. He has the incident with Lewis and hen goes on the rant at the reporter...Counter-puncher wrote:watch the clip mate, heckler shouts Put him in a straitjacket, tysons turned to the crowd and the rant begins 'put your mother in a straitjacket', i think it was, the whole rant is at the heckler.SNG wrote:It's right after he tackled Lewis and bit him isn't it?Counter-puncher wrote:But he was shouting at the heckler in the crowd?

Re: Fury tweets
I thought you were saying he was trying to intimidate Lewis with the rant
Re: Fury tweets
No, I was saying it was in part a reaction to seeing no fear in Lewis, and he knows he's no longer good enough to beat him. I've always thought he comes across really scared there, he's clearly in a terrible place mentally.Counter-puncher wrote:I thought you were saying he was trying to intimidate Lewis with the rant

Re: Fury tweets
I bet he didn't tweet anything about predicting Martin to beat Joshua did he ?
I find all this bollox really tiring TBH , it ain't for me .

Re: Fury tweets
At least he's being consistent. Before the fight he was saying AJ was slow and ponderous. But he is so anti establishment that he turned Martin into some kind of boxing God which his supporters lapped up.rd350lc wrote:I bet he didn't tweet anything about predicting Martin to beat Joshua did he ?

I like fury the character but he is always so close to the line of decency you never know when to watch or turn away. As for his fighting style it speaks for itself awkward but effective.
Re: Fury tweets
I can't see him as a racist (even tho he's admitted being homophobic). It's probably not really thought through and I think he probably has a bit of respect for Benn. He ought to. He's always going on about being a "real fighting man" whatever the heck that means.JohnH wrote:Fair enough, however intimating that Nigel Benn is racist (or only favours black fighters) is a little off the mark for me.tobyh5 wrote:Kinda with Horse on this one tbh. Just another boring sportsperson acting like a politician?
No, thanks.
I've seen similar outburts from fighters. Normally right after a training session (endorphins) or whilst they're watching a fight on the television.
But I do agree with the poster who said that as the lineal Heavyweight champ (or even if it was non-lineal) he ought keep just above gutter level.

Re: Fury tweets
i think the benn stuff is because he's now lives in austraila and over there there's no such thing as being PC and race is a bigger issue than it is here when i was there i was with a black english guy and a few times the aussies would just call him black fella not really as an insult more like "well your black and a fella" so i would of thought benn has become used to a black white divide that you don't get much here in england

nothing wrong with calling a black guy black fella. how can that be racist? i wouldn't mind being called white fella by a black guy.stevedoc wrote:i think the benn stuff is because he's now lives in austraila and over there there's no such thing as being PC and race is a bigger issue than it is here when i was there i was with a black english guy and a few times the aussies would just call him black fella not really as an insult more like "well your black and a fella" so i would of thought benn has become used to a black white divide that you don't get much here in england

It's kind of unnecessary isn't it though to prefix someone based on their skin colour?forcefraser wrote:nothing wrong with calling a black guy black fella. how can that be racist? i wouldn't mind being called white fella by a black guy.stevedoc wrote:i think the benn stuff is because he's now lives in austraila and over there there's no such thing as being PC and race is a bigger issue than it is here when i was there i was with a black english guy and a few times the aussies would just call him black fella not really as an insult more like "well your black and a fella" so i would of thought benn has become used to a black white divide that you don't get much here in england

Re: Fury tweets
Depends on the context. When there's a white guy fighting a black guy and the commentator distinguishes the two by saying something along the lines of "Sykes is wearing the scarlet red shorts, Oguhuru is wearing the ruby red shorts", I sometimes think FFS, is there not a more obvious way?

Seriously chaps, fury is on fire here. Hearns, Malik Scott, Naz....7 minutes in. He's brilliant to have around in the build up to fights.
