Yeah agreed, but let's be honest here, it's also worked for a decade. Time to change the approach!Boxerbeetle wrote:Whilst I agree with the general sentiment, Wlad hasn't taken a single risk in the ring for around a decade, so it's difficult to imagine him suddenly throwing caution to the wind at this late stage of his career.Rob3_142 wrote:Wladamir cannot do the same thing again, and do not expect him to. His chips are already down, and he needs to fight like a man that's got everything to gain. Klitchko has always fought in the past with control, but it felt like Fury took that away from him. Fury's excellent movement and long jab meant that Klitchko couldn't get close enough to get his 1-2 combo in.
He is 40, but he looks in better shape than Fury. He just needs to throw caution to the wind, and go for broke. Once he's got Fury on the back foot he'll force him to fight back, creating more openings.
And, of course, the previous result might have just been down to 40 year old Wlad being unable to pull the trigger, in which case again it's unlikely he'll be able to fix it in the rematch.
There's no doubt for me that prime Wlad would have beaten prime Fury, but those days seem to be long gone.

Joshua has been confirmed on BoxRec as fighting July 9. Same date as the Fury/Klitchko. There's going to be some MAJOR schedule conflict between Sky and B0xnati0n. Let the fireworks begin!chad wrote:It's on B0xnati0n. Confirmed in the last few minutes

Just spoke to Peter to confirm MEN venue, which is probably out there already, but also asked about the TV situation and why Sky didn't come in for it. I got an interesting response, article will be on BS ASAP.

Joshua not fight on July 9th. Would be idiotic if he does and be a kick in the nuts to boxing fans.

I'd take Fury to win even better than last time, maybe even a late stoppage due to a cut.

I've been told that Sky turned the rematch down as they wouldn't budge on July 9 date.

It'll be bollocks if Matchroom really do press ahead with a Joshua bill on 9th July. With Sky's hype machine in full flow and the Murdoch national press in fifth gear, it'll likely completely overshadow the Fury-Klitschko rematch, which would be hugely unfair. I know the first fight was a bit crap, but Tyson got very little credit for his victory and deserves a big British night of his own.
Re: Tyson Fury (c) vs. Wladimir Klitschko 2 - July 9th 2016
Maybe bigger in Britain, but in Europe and the wider world, I don't think it would.

It'd be a massive shame if they clashed.
It's basically dick-waving by Hearn/Sky. They know that AJ will fill a bigger venue and pull more TV numbers than Fury - I wouldn't be surprised if they're already thinking ahead to the potential Fury/Joshua clash negotiations and trying to prove Joshua is the bigger draw.

I think to be fair, Hearn said they were likely to have a Wembley event on 9th July quite a while ago, albeit originally for a Brook super fight. Secondly Joshua is confirmed for July 9 and venue booked, whereas the Fury team have just mentioned the date was confirmed on Peter Fury's Twitter. It's hardly likely that Hearn/Joshua team has got all this booked and confirmed inside 48 hours to spite the Fury lot.
