OK I confess. I'm on the AJ train.
I can't fight it anymore. Yes he's had a bit of a dodgy past. No he's probably not as humble as he and Eddie keep insisting, but...
I admire his positive attitude and he admits that there is more work ahead of him before he can really be classed as the champ. I liked it when he laughed after the second Martin knock down as he realised it was a bit of a joke fight and wasn't afraid to show that.
He's English and he talks a good game. I like him and wish him all the success his hard work will bring him. There, I said it. I feel better now.

Good for you being on the train. Lets wait until he fights someone with a pulse before getting carried away!
Re: OK I confess. I'm on the AJ train.
Scum? Why? Don't be such a pompous prat. The guy has a past and is now doing positive things with his life. Most of us have done some crap we ain't proud of. Learn and move on.Horse wrote:He's scum.

He cheats repeatedly in the ring.Stuarty30 wrote:Scum? Why? Don't be such a pompous prat. The guy has a past and is now doing positive things with his life. Most of us have done some crap we ain't proud of. Learn and move on.
He shows no class.
I have no reason to like this person.

I like him as a person/brand
Not 100% sold on him as a boxer yet

Cheats in the ring? If you're talking about rumoured PED usage then that's all it is, rumour. To call him a cheat is just your opinion and one you shouldn't broadcast until you have concrete evidence or your suspicions have been confirmed.Horse wrote:He cheats repeatedly in the ring.Stuarty30 wrote:Scum? My God!
Unbelievable.
Re: OK I confess. I'm on the AJ train.
I do not get it, what cheating in the ring? Instead of comments like, "open your eyes", perhaps you could be specific.
Re: OK I confess. I'm on the AJ train.
Seriously, don't you watch his fights?tobyh5 wrote:I do not get it, what cheating in the ring? Instead of comments like, "open your eyes", perhaps you could be specific.
Don't you listen to the commentary?
Don't you watch the interviews after his fights?
I shouldn't have to explain this.
He breaks the rules, he is a cheat.
Re: OK I confess. I'm on the AJ train.
He's hit people while they've been down....I think that may be the cheating Horse is talking about.
I'm not really into the AJ humble guy media figure, but he is a can't miss type in the ring.

Re: OK I confess. I'm on the AJ train.
So in summary. No specifics, just generic bullshit that means nothing. I asked a simple question. Maybe I have not seen the fights with this alleged cheating so am asking you to explain. Seems easy enough Horse.Horse wrote:Seriously, don't you watch his fights?tobyh5 wrote:I do not get it, what cheating in the ring? Joshua hits his opponents after the bell and when they are down on a regular basis.tobyh5 wrote:So in summary. No specifics, just generic bullshit that means nothing. I asked a simple question. Re: OK I confess. I'm on the AJ train.
Well I'm certainly on the AJ train, as regular readers may know I'm a massive fan of Eddie Hearn and I always wish the best for him and everyone connected with him. My only gripe with the whole setup is I'm not sure they are quite selling the product as aggressively as they could do. A massive potential crossover star like AJ deserves the full works. I think they should maybe think about a bigger presence on social media- I think the fans would love to hear about AJs sacrifices, say as he consumes another abstemious meal of chicken and boiled veg- also I think Eddie Hearn should mention what a big star AJ is more often. Try and get him in the papers a bit, that kind of thing.
Re: OK I confess. I'm on the AJ train.
How dare you accuse Saint AJ of punching his opponents after the bell. He gets an extra few seconds of strikes in due to his almighty humbleness. He just wants to keep it real and stay humble, and you're criticising him for trying to do harm to his opponents when they're down or unprepared. Did I mention how humble he is?Horse wrote:Joshua hits his opponents after the bell and when they are down on a regular basis.tobyh5 wrote:So in summary. That's what I'm talking about. Thats a narrative the public can get behind.Benelio wrote:How dare you accuse Saint AJ of punching his opponents after the bell. I think that they should call him the "future people's champion" again.Counter-puncher wrote:Well I'm certainly on the AJ train, as regular readers may know I'm a massive fan of Eddie Hearn and I always wish the best for him and everyone connected with him. Re: OK I confess. I'm on the AJ train.
I hope Team AJ are reading this, theres some gold here. Maybe they will finally start promoting something- oh, light bulb moment - do you think it would be good if they started thinking of Joshua as, like, a Brand almost? That would really make him the crossover star he should become. Like, Brand AJ. Lets build Brand AJ, guys, together.
Re: OK I confess. I'm on the AJ train.
Why oh why can't AJ post an 8 second homo-erotic video clip of him tensing his abs to the camera - in order to reach out to, and satisfy his fans? Then the world could be convinced what a 'proper unit' he is.
