Was plenty of articles around the same weekend of Mathews/Flannagan that both Dickens and Farrag would fight for european titles at the echo on that date so while they might not have confirmed it oficially it was obviously all booked. Hence I don't think its FW choosing to go up against a stadium fight in the same city its the other way round. In fact I don't think Matchroom have officially confirmed Goodsison for that date have they?
I can't see how Bellew-Makubu fills a stadium. Matchroom are completely over-estimating Bellews popularity.
It will be a great fight in the Echo and that's where I think the fight will end up.
You're right, it doesn't fill a stadium, I think at Goodison it does 25k at best, but then your left with plenty of empty gaps Warren has had the June date pencilled in at the Echo for months now.
It looks set to be a quality card, Dickens and Farrag in Euro title fights, I saw that Tete was going to be in with Zhanat Zhakiyanov for the WBA interim bantamweight belt and I think we'll see the return of Derry Mathews plus more.
Its an interesting business move on the part of Eddie. He knows AJ vs. Haye on Sky PPV means that Sky then won't show the Fury/Klitschko rematch at the same time which would cost all those involved huge amounts of revenue.
Years ago in the world of pro-wrestling Vince McMahon would only offer his PPV shows to companies if they agreed to not show rival wrestling PPV shows at a similar time. This is a similarly aggressive move if true.

It's not idiotic if you're trying to take revenue away from a competitor. Unfortunately for Warren, this is exactly the sort of thing SKY and Matchroom can afford to do.
