That's just untrue and unfounded! Tyson wouldn't try to force a DQ, if he wanted a DQ he would have got a DQ. He took his beating like a man, nothing more, nothing less!
Tyson was 30 when this happened & he certainly wasn't washed up.[/list]
I never said he was washed-up! He looked very good leading up to the bout, but he most certainly was not in his prime any more!
He did.
He deliberately banged his swollen eye into Holyfield in order to try at get the fight stopped, he tried to break Evander's arm & he bitched & moaned to the ref. He knew he was going to be KO'ed from about the 6th onwards.
Yes, he took his beating like a man in the end, but he did act in a cowardly manner beforehand.
Syntax you must realise that Barry is always right and you can't argue with him!
The fact the umemployed, hillybilly twat can actually use the computer surprizes me! He has all day to sit and watch boxing and read boxing book which mean he knows all there is to know about boxing!
Arsenal is just bitter because he has to make up shit to be able to hang in a debate with me! See, the jealousy has led him over to this thread and it will probably bleed over to other threads as well...as you can see...it's eating at him!
What does it really say about him when he is out-witted and out-debated by an "unemployed hillbilly?"

What about all the head-butts that Holyfield was using...was it because Holyfield wanted to have the fight stopped?

Not at all.
I don't know how you could even question Holyfield's heart.
You know that Evander has a well known tactic of using his head in fights.
He is not a heartless coward, he is just unscrupulous with his tactics.
Tyson on the other hand, was definitely looking for a way out from round 6 onwards.
These are the actions of a fighter with no heart , in my opinion.
I already posted my thoughts regarding Tyson's "heart" earlier in this post...
I will say however that I do agree with what Barry is saying....in the sense that Tyson certainly did change midway through the first Holyfield fight -
In that he did most certainly start complaining "whining" to the ref....which seemed quite unusual for "the baddest man" on the planet.
With that said....I still also say Tyson took his beating like a man....and didn't just go down....and roll over....he was still throwing bombs up until the round he was stopped (11th).
The whole head-butt debate is so blown out of proportion it is silly....on all sides.......when you have two aggressive guys with their styles....you are going to have clash of heads....it is that simple.......clashing of heads is part of boxing...
Additionally in their second fight (Holy Vs Tyson)....it was a clear punch that caused Tyson's cut.....it was not a clash of heads.....it was a short left hook landed by Holyfield........but to the media it is a better story to talk about headbutting and all that.....

Only an idiot would compare a headbutt to ripping half of someone's ear off.
What about Jumbo Cummings biting Renaldo Snipes shoulder off?!
What about Holyfield ADMITTING he had bit an opponent in the olypmics?
What about Golota biting Pouha! But like Tyson tried to bite him again?
What about Michael Bentt sinking his teeth into Herbie Hide's neck?
As you can tell not only Tyson is guilty of biting, other fighters are too and also Holyfield himself.

When did Holyfield admit to biting someone in the Olimpics?.....
...so some other fighters have bit opponents, how many have actually bitten a peice from their opponent?... twice???.
The whole point about the biting incident is that it shows that Tyson lost heart in fights when things went against him, this is a fact, you only need to go through his career to see this flaw... even fights he won like the Bonecrusher bore....

Sorry I didnt mean the olympics, I meant the amaterus.
I just it funny when yes Holyfield was bitten and he his ear looked very ghastly, but Holyfield admitted to biting himself and other fightes as I said did this as well but only Tyson is remembered for it.
I read in the 1968 Ring Record Book, which stated that during an amateur bout in 1967 a fighter bit his opponents ear off after which I think the bout was declared a draw. When the fighter with the missing ear left the hospital he went to the police station where his ear had been taken, but it was gone. Turns out a police dog ate his ear and the evidence was therefore lost. There were no charges filed, but I am pretty sure that the referee declared the bout a draw.

When did he say this?... I don't remember him ever saying that he bit anyone...
Silkov it's absoulutely true Holyfield bit someone early in his career. I don't know any more details due to my aging memory but someone else can confirm this with more details I'm sure. It certainly was not as blatant an action, and I think it was in response to another foul and not initiated but my memory is sketchy on this. Oh and it was just biting vs biting half an ear completely OFF. Tyson didnt bite....he chewed, all that was missing from that meal were the fries.
