I knew the late Craig Bodzianowski back in the late 80's, and ironically my best friend at the time knew his 2 time opponent Alfonzo Ratliff.

evrenb, well that is an impressive list [why did you balk at Shaw! &..I know you know he died recently. "Unlicenced boxer" I think I never hear of him until he died]
I've "seen" live (35 yards away), Matthew Hilton. And stood beside Ted Lowry once (you know who he is...) & I sat ringside one away from Floyd Patterson once. And, walked past by inches Larry Holmes one time. Oh, almost forgot. Gerry Cooney.....a friend talked me into "hitchhiking" one time to the Caskills to witness a GC workout (prior to the Holmes match). SUCH A COLD DAY! We got there bit tardy. So..I was only along for the "hike"/not to meet GC. My friend chased him down, met him. Then, some bit of time later here comes GC in his robe and gear walking up the hallway. He stops a distance from us and terries, to fiddle with his robe and attire. Then, finally he pulls it together and marched on and past us.
Must be some others too. I'll recall! Oh, and I witness Robert Daniels LIVE SPARRING in Miami before. He was getting sharp in order to challenge (successfully) for 190lb 'C' title in France.
See Billy Padden fight often. You may or may not know of him but..in College, BP was a "good legend".

Drake Thadzi, did not have words but..one time/I went to Brockton to drop in on the GPettineli GYM THERE! Well, while there I had to walk thru the Office sometimes. One of the times Drake Thadzi was sitting, alone (quiet).
You know he did some really keen things in boxing!

***Sugar Ramos. I was boxing in a lh fight ("I am a natural welterweight...."). It was my 7Th pro start. We were at Worcester Mass. & my corner was ASSIGNED to me. Somewhere into the rounds already I learned that Sugar Ramos was working my corner that night. I was "surprised". Learned "during the fight".

Carlos Ortiz is another one I just SEE live. The times I would box on the Jimmy Burchfield promotions in RI (if I'm not mistaken..I think that is where see him). Different times. Everyone KNEW WHO HE WAS. He would be "very energetic" just bouncing around all over the place like a rubber ball. Lot of "good energy".

Another I laid eyes on only we never "spoke" was ***Gilbert Dele of France when he was the reigning champion. It was for his defense against Pazienza. Fight he lost the title in. We were all sitting at very large conference table and Gilbert sat at the other end.
