How Boxing can grow in Australia

Post by JamesK »

I am writing an article on the state of boxing in Australia and am looking at how we can grow the sport in the country. What do you guys think will help the sport grow?

More TV and print media coverage.

Better matched fights.

Less of the plethora of worthless belts.

Success. More mainstream coverage for lesser known fighters.

Wealthy australian promoters investing in young talented fighters, Australian promoters could learn a thing or 2 from Duco.

Less back stabbers but I wouldn't be holding my breath more honest people but again I wouldn't be holding my breath what about this one we all fight under the same banner with the same rules and regulations in the amateur's everyone gets a chance to go to Olympic game's etc etc etc it will help
grow the sport it will be overall a safer sport and can this thing about pro's fighting against amateur's be knocked on the head its a joke and instead of devaluing the Australian Title's by barring Regional Title holder's from holding it or fighting for the Australian Title make some sort of rule that you have to win the Aussie Title before you can Challenge for a Regional belt or something along those line's because right now we have novice fighter's Challenging and even winning the Aussie Title and their like the 6th/7th best fighter's in that weight class in the Country some fighter's from the bush are even 2 time National Champion's when they are not even in the top 5 or 6th best fighter at that weight we need to give our fan's more competitive fight's especially domestic fight's that people will watch fight's that are not predictable less imported taxi driver's will arrive and the big one some people to put their ego's in retirement fu.k that would be something

Combine the leugue and aba championships and get the best to represent aust , . Giv the national coaches job to tried and tested trainers , not to yes men who say the right thing .
