It's on allegedly mate. Really looking forward to it myself. Since it's in Russia it will be on at a reasonable time as well which is a bonus. I don't know who to pick. I always said Povetkin since there was rumours the fight was being made but doubt is creeping in now. Povetkin is on a good run since a disappointing showing against Wlad so he'll be full of confidence especially with the home advantage. Wilder is just so big and rough round the edges you never know what you're going to get. If Povetkin can show some patience and find his range then you've got to fancy him strongly but even if Wilder was to half catch Alexander then he's going to just start throwing everything and that'll probably be the end of that. Still favour Povetkin 70/30%.

I've always thought Povetkin's style would be a nightmare for both Wilder and Fury. Saying that, he was rubbish against Wlad, so who knows.

Should be a good fight regardless, looking forward to it. The heavyweight division is really hotting up now the Klitschkos' reign of terror/boredom is at an end.

It's on BN with a good undercard.

Really excited about this. I always favoured Povetkin but doubts are now creeping in after His French victim beat Helenius a couple of weeks back.

Think we'll see what Wilder is made off this time round.

Povetkin is seasoned, got plenty of ability, at home and is a young 36 in terms of fights.

If he has trained really properly and has a gameplan (think Atlas questioned this?) then it is a top fight.

Wilder has got all the tools for the job but a prepared Povetkin in Russia is a live, dangerous threat.

Too long you mean? Wilder is only around 225 pounds/16 stone.

I definetly think this is the time Wilder gets found out

I wonder what the betting odds are - I'm tempted to stick a bit on Povetkin if they have Wilder as clear favourite

Boxing is about more than just 'too big'.

I was on the fence about this fight for a while, but when you think about Povetkin coming back from being decked against Wlad and showing heart there, it makes me think he can recover from trouble vs Wilder too. Also I strongly believe Povetkin would have done much better vs Wlad if the Octopus had been penalised for his incessant holding, as he should have been.

Wilder hasn't shown he can tough it out against a guy as good, or at least as solid, as Povetkin. Hell, he hasn't fought anyone as good as Povetkin full stop, although this said I do think he clearly has the power to seriously threaten Povetkin, and also I think does have enough intelligence about him to box smarter, which he did at times vs Stiverne, which makes it all interesting.

Even if he beats Wilder, Povetkin may only prove to be around the fourth or fifth best heavyweight in the world once the smoke clears on Joshua, Ortiz, Parker and Fury/Wlad (although on reflection I would pick Alex over Fury in a heartbeat).

Wlad also has a fantastic jab which hurt Povetkin and kept him at distance. Wilders isn't anywhere near as good so you'd think Povetkin will get in close and get his shots off. He'll be able to get through Wilders long wild hooks easier than Wlads straight one twos and ramrod jab. Really interesting fight. Can't wait.

I do see Povetkin being able to land easier than against Wlad but also I see Wilder taking it to Povetkin and throwing a lot more punches than Wlad.

I think Povetkin will rough him up, take some shots but come through adversity and stop Wilder, probably by the sixth in a thrilling fight. With Povetkin's style and Wilder's power I don't see how this can't be a great fight for as long as it lasts.

I want Wilder to win as he would be more likely to fight Fury than Povetkin.

Going to find out a lot about Wilder as the atmosphere there will be incredibly hostile

Wilder also gained some weight recently, just look at this vid:

That face alone looks 10% more fat than it looked last year

All credit to Wilder if he does indeed fight Povetkin. I personally think Povetkin will win. I think it'll take Povetkin a couple of rounds to feel himself into the fight but once he worked out how to get in. He'll start piling the pressure on Wilder and stop him around round 5. I think Wilder needs to win this fight within the first 3 rounds to stand a chance of winning.

Was on odds checker the other day and I think someone was offering 6/5 for PoV.

Wilder used to have the odds, but the closer the fight gets, the more odds Povetkin seems to get. It's already 50/50 I read now.

I actually think this will go the distance, so i'm going Povetkin on points. Wilder's best opponent so far was Stiverne, a similar size to Povetkin, and he couldn't get through his defence THAT easy.

Povetkin has more experience against higher level opponents than Wilder has and also gets home advantage. Wilder is dangerous and unorthodox but he us also loose and I think this is a step up he won't cope with.

I would like Wilder to win as it leaves more exciting fights in the future against the likes of Ortiz, Parker, Fury and Joshua, but I cant see it.
