AJ 25th June
AJ 25th June
Just announced on Sky that AJs first defence will be June 25th and not July 9th. Think we all knew that Hearn was just blethering stale pish when he first made that statement but there you go. Opponent still under consideration and no venue named as of yet I don't think? Not too long to wait.

I know it's gonna be Scott.
I nearly typed Sprott by accident but even he I think wouldn't go down as easy.

What a disappointing fight that would be.tigermoth87 wrote:I know it's gonna be Scott.

Breazeale is a new name eddie keeps mentioning. Would not mind him over the others mentioned to be fair. Will still get knocked out in under 3 tho. Big lad with a lunch and was at the same Olympics as Joshua.
Re: AJ 25th June
Not seen him fight but I wouldn't mind this as a first defence. Fellow undefeated Olympian coming off a decent win and as you say, can punch. If it turns out to be Scott then that's a major let down.rio wrote:Breazeale is a new name eddie keeps mentioning. Would not mind him over the others mentioned to be fair. Sprott would be out of there quicker than a house burglar. It would be a terrible fight.tigermoth87 wrote:I know it's gonna be Scott.

He's not in the top 15. I know that hasn't stopped such fights before but it's looking likely it won't be Scott thank fukk!tigermoth87 wrote:I know it's gonna be Scott.

I also thought it would became Scott, but when I watch what the IBF wants I see that the highest ranked American next to Charles Martin is Breazeale, then Molina, then Miller. All of them would be disappointing matches, that's not AJ's fould, but IBF's fould.
I hoped for the winner of Takam/Parker, but I guess we'll have to wait for that.

You do both know this fight happened, right? Mind you... you're forgiven for forgetting!jamesmcdonnell wrote:Sprott would be out of there quicker than a house burglar. It would be a terrible fight.tigermoth87 wrote:I know it's gonna be Scott.

Re: AJ 25th June
I don't think Breazeale would be a step up from Martin. He's big and has some grinding strength (I highly doubt he hits AJ enough to make it count) but he's painfully slow and clumsy, and Hughie's next opponent deserved a draw against him IMO.
That said, I suppose he's sellable to casuals given that he's towering, unbeaten, and a former American Olympian (jesus, how bad was the quality of American HWs at the time?). He and Joshua also both have a Showtime connection in the US.

Big A-Force got a gold for us so maybe they weren't that bad?crusader wrote:I don't think Breazeale would be a step up from Martin. If England win the group in Euro's, I think they will be playing the next round that night
Not good for PPV figures IMO

I'm reading Molina then a Whyte rematch.
The Hearns are sticking to the formula they which they used on Chris Eubank.

At 5pm I think which would work out well with people making an evening/night of it.If we finish 3rd in the group we could be playing at 8 which would be more of a problemrossij8 wrote:If England win the group in Euro's, I think they will be playing the next round that night

Re: AJ 25th June
Ah well spotted - I reckon they've gambled on first or second place (Monday KO) in group, not expecting a 3rd place, but you never know with Englandashedward wrote:At 5pm I think which would work out well with people making an evening/night of it.If we finish 3rd in the group we could be playing at 8 which would be more of a problemrossij8 wrote:If England win the group in Euro's, I think they will be playing the next round that night

Could be a good evening - I'll be rat arsed by the time AJ comes on
Re: AJ 25th June
Bit risky doing a PPV card during the Euros. Not only will Hearn find it harder to get publicity especially if England are doing well but a lot of ticket buyers will be in France at the same time.
No doubt all tickets will be sold in 4 seconds to appear on Stub Hub in their thousands seconds later.

Re: AJ 25th June
They might have to resort to selling tickets on the door if they get Breazeale of Molina in as his opposition...

I like Breaseale, but he looked awful in his last fight. AJ would put him to sleep inside 3 rounds.Stuarty30 wrote:Not seen him fight but I wouldn't mind this as a first defence.
