I don't know if it's the reason for any dislike or disrespect, but I agree that a prime welterweight De La Hoya beats a prime welterweight Floyd - I like Oscar to win a close, somewhat disputed decision. Of course, welterweight wasn't Floyd's best weight, so it's not exactly a fair comparison - I rate Floyd higher in a p4p sense.

Look, I have a hard time missing a Floyd Blanket party but I can't pack my pillow case with soap and start swinging on this one. Oscar stays up at night thinking about how he was too old to keep up with Floyd that night. Had they both fought in their prime, I say Oscar wins that fight.

1. Because he almost did it when he was over the hill in that fight. I had Floyd winning the last two rounds to snake the victory away from Oscar.

2. Oscar was so beloved in his prime prior to the fishnet incident that he would have gotten the judges favor in an even round on the cards.
