The anticipation of them throwing a punch at one another was compelling but they didn't light it up, the purest in me admires their skills but it was stand offish to say the least.

I have to agree that the fight did not have the toe to toe action that the Sky TV propaganda promised in order to sell to the casuals. The fight in reality was never going to catch fire as it would have been horrendous tactically for Carl to stand and trade with Scott and play into the Manchester mans only way of winning the fight! He was always going to utilise his vastly superior boxing skills to box and move gaining a points win in a fine performance in my eyes.
As for Quigg not throwing a punch for six rounds I don't know what to say?? He had to apply pressure and constantly storm down Frampton in order to land that punch that would change the fight in his favour. I would seriously question the tactics that Joe Gallagher imposed for his fighter and would in fact question Joe Gallagher as a trainer as none of his fighters have prevailed against a legitimate top ten opponent, he has two world champions neither have fought a legitimate world contender or champion. When any of them have they have lost comprehensively; Cardle robbed a draw recently against Dodd, Stephen Smith, Paul Smith all lost big fights even Crolla against Derry!

Rigo doesn't bring the $$$. I guarantee that if Rigondeaux was a big payday Frampton would queue to fight him. In risk vs reward terms -- which drives boxing theses days -- Rigondeaux sucks balls.

On the other hand Frampton can be backed up and doesn't seem to like it rough. Real mix of styles and a good fight to look forward to.

Yeah really looking forward to all they fights mate. Especially Povetkin v Wilder. I've changed my mind a good few times on the outcome of that already. I thought Povetkin was a stick on but doubt keeps creeping in mainly due to Wilders size and unorthodox style. If Wilder catches him he won't let him off the hook.

I'm still leaning towards Povetkin but I really think that it can go either way at any moment. I doubt very much that it goes the distance and my mind keeps going back to Wilder's blue heron legs.

I HATE the fight... It's a cherry-pick for Santa Cruz who ducked Lomachenko all the time they were both at featherweight. They both fought as featherweights on the same card over a year ago. They both fought super easy opponents and should have been fighting each other. Santa Cruz is also ducking Gary Russell who would knock him out quickly. He's the biggest ducker in the sport.

Awesome fight and great venue at the Barclays center. I'm a big Carl Frampton fan and I was really impressed with his win over Quigg. I also think Carl is a very underrated puncher.
That said, really close fight. I think Santa Cruz has some physical advantages over Carl, but I think generally speaking Carl has the higher Ring IQ.
Look for Santa Cruz to win some close early rounds, but by round 4 or 5 I think Carl will make an adjustment and win a close, competitive fight.
