Frampton`s first defeat as a pro. Santa Cruz can fight and will be too rangy for Frampton.
The lad he fought before Quigg was a lanky type and he gave him problems. Points win for Santa Cruz.

Re: Leo Santa Cruz vs Carl Frampton
Yeah that's the way I'm seeing it. LSC might be a bit too busy and big on the night. Frampton hasn't looked too clever his last two outings so he's going to need to be firing on all fronts to get a result here. Certainly not impossible and he is definitely capable but right now I'm just favouring LSC on points. I'll probably change my mind 100 times between now and the fight though...forcefraser wrote:Frampton`s first defeat as a pro. Santa Cruz can fight and will be too rangy for Frampton.

Re: Leo Santa Cruz vs Carl Frampton
I used to hate LSC due to his pisspoor opposition, never thought he'd come out of his comfort zone. But fair play to him, he's on a good run of competitive fights now, and I think he'll be too busy and strong for Frampton.
Re: Leo Santa Cruz vs Carl Frampton
Why has Frampton and his team always been so keen on LSC.
does he sell particularly well? They've been mentioning him for years now and it took ages to make the Quigg fight and we'll never see the Carl vs Rigo fight.
They really want this Santa Cruz gig.

Eff the Rigo fight. The guy is talented but super boring and unprofessional.davie wrote:Why has Frampton and his team always been so keen on LSC.

Great fight
Re: Leo Santa Cruz vs Carl Frampton
A year ago fancied Frampton heavily, now I'm not so sure. Leo was very impressive v Mares although Abner's gameplan was baffling to say the least. Got rid of Kiko and seems to have grown into FW quite well after a poor start v Cayetano. Frampton was ok v Gonzalez after a nightmare start, beat Quigg handy enough but then Scott was dreadful for first half of fight.
Maybe the move up in weight will suit FRampton and will have a bit more about him that seemed to be missing a bit since Avalos.
Kinda siding with Leo here but it's very close

Remember when hearn said "I have already told cyclone they won't get Santa Cruz or kiko".....he has to be gutted he let britians biggest ticket seller outside the heavyweight division go after trying to put him on a Luke cambell undercard. I am sure frampton regrets it as well!!!! Never mind he still has quigg

Re: Leo Santa Cruz vs Carl Frampton
Very over rated as well, yes he is clearly world class but he has been dropped plenty of times and shown plenty of weaknesses. He's had 16 fights only 10 ko's which is good but not spectacular and he's been dropped 4 times.Boxerbeetle wrote:Eff the Rigo fight. Santa Cruz is extremely over rated. I think Frampton schools him and I won't be changing my mind.
Re: Leo Santa Cruz vs Carl Frampton
50-50 for me, frampton is a good boxer but LSC has stepped his game uo.
I hope carl wins and we see a Selby v frampton unification instead of selby v warrington

Re: Leo Santa Cruz vs Carl Frampton
I see a easy points win for LSC.
To big and strong and he's got the better workrate.
I see cards around the 117-111 mark.

Re: Leo Santa Cruz vs Carl Frampton
Santa Cruz hasn't been the same fighter since moving up to Featherweight. The way that he struggled against a very average fighter in Jose Cayetano suggests to me that he isn't the beast that he was at Super Bantamweight.
Don't get me wrong, I respect Santa Cruz as a fighter, but his two recent wins aren't as big as some are stating.
Firstly, Abner Mares beat poor opposition since his 1st round KO loss to Jhonny Gonzalez...
And Kiko Martinez had already been KO'd by Quigg and wrecked by Frampton twice.
I think Frampton wins this fight, if he can bring his form with him up to the new weight class.

Re: Leo Santa Cruz vs Carl Frampton
this should be a cracking fight, frampton last couples of fights have been poor , he will have to be switch on from the sart . no reason he cant win this ,great fight
