Peter Manfredo Vs Scott Pemberton

Post by The Hawk »

Interesting fight in America tonight, could be a very entertaining fight. What has Pemberton got left after the Lacy fight and what does Manfredo bring to this fight.... I enjoyed Manfredo on The Contender, will be good to see what he has got againt Pemberton, who has been in some entertaining fights himself. Scott's a big height advantage over Manfredo, I think it could be a good brawl! :box:

Its a shame Pemberton is coming off the Lacy hammering, otherwise I would be very excited about this match. Is Pemberton shot? He certainly has the power to hurt anyone and Manfredo isn't mister elusive - plus there is a big size difference with Pemberton a big super middle and Manfredo should be a light middle.

Good test, and an excellent gauge for the ability of the contender fighters.

Looks to be an interesting matchup. A win for Manfredo will boost his credit as a real contender.

I've noticed he's fighting at Dunkin Donuts Center

Manfredo seems like a nice kid but I really dont see what all the fuss is about. He looked like the best of the fighters on the Contender on paper yet he was decidedly average.

He wasn't though - Eshe Smith was far more skilled.

I was dissapointed with Manfredo, but not of many of the others.

Smith will be the best of them all I have no doubt about that. But Manfredo was the highest rated out of them all at the start of the series, I think he was in the top 3 at 154 with one of the sanctioning bodies. He is not top 3 material whatever division he is operating in! Nowhere near. I think Pemberton might beat him if he has anything left.

The much anticipated fight between New England super middleweights Scott "The Sandman" Pemberton and Peter Manfredo Jr. has been postponed until Monday night. The fight at the the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, was to be aired on ESPN following tonight's Pro Bowl, but was postponed due to the blizzard that ravaged the Northeast part of the country. There will be a press conference at 4PM to address the issue, and Fightnews will keep you up to date on the situation.

I was going to quote nickd's "if he has anything left" which I don't think Pemberton has now. I think the term is "shot." I think he's just after the pay cheques now, and quite a few Americans commented on him having a slurred voice and stuff in the run-up. Pretty bad.

I was just about to post that I thought Pemberton might beat him (good job that one wasn't in the predictions league  ), but he's obviously shot. Good scalp for Manfredo.
