I had it 8-4 but I had no complaint with judges giving it much wider.
Other than the last round, the other rounds I gave Arroyo were for a few effective shots in a round where Gonzalez landed plenty himself and out worked Arroyo. I felt I had to give Arroyo one or two for his efforts and in those rounds he landed the heavier, eye catching shots.

I was still well impressed with Gonzalez but his lack of power and slight defensive frailties concern me for such an all out offensive fighter. He could well come unstuck if Inoue is as good as we think he is.

The WBC proper. I think they installed GGG as interim to force the fight.

My impression for a year or more has been that Inoue would be just too big for Roman

I know what you mean but there's a massive gap in pro experience that will probably tell on the night. I still don't know who takes it. Couldn't even guess. If I had to bet it would be Gonzalez but I thought the same with Donaire and Rigo and if it comes off its a similar situations and similar circumstances.

So GGG is the WBC middleweight champion for two weeks until Alvarez fights Khan and then the winner becomes the full WBC champion, and GGG is what?
Have I got it now , or have I missed something?
What a farce boxing's become. The world champion is Golovkin everybody knows that.

Everyone and their granny knows GGG is the absolute top man in the division yeah. As for the WBC, I thought GGG was interim champ and winner of Canelo Khan HAS to face him or be stripped? The WBC very rarely do the interim thing to be fair to them. I think they're just trying to force the fight. Mind you the way they treated Martinez when Canelo was involved was shameful. Fully documented in the 'Marravilla' documentary. Worth a look if you've not seen it.

Canelo is full WBC champ now at MW even though he or the man he took the title from(Cotto) have never fought at the limit, like most i thought the point of an Interim title was to keep the belt going when the full champ is inactive but you know what these cowboys are like

I had RG winning 118-111. It was clear but Arroyo put up a fight for pretty much the whole contest and didn't seem too bothered by Roman's power.

I also have the feeling that Inoue would be too big for Roman, and I think RG is starting to reach a point where further moves up in weight will significantly reduce the effectiveness of his grinding style, though I'd still expect him to do well at 115 (Carlos Cuadras is the one to aim for at that weight IMO). Is Tete also campaigning there now? I imagine that Roman would look like a little kid next to him.

Tete's last fight was at Bantam and he was talking about challenging Rigo so I doubt we'll see him back at SuperFly.

Predictably surreal stuff from the WBC..you kind of wonder how they actually keep track of their own bewildering plethora of belts and rankings.

All this team GGG fighting anyone from 154-168 is getting tedious now.

The reality is he brings a tough night and relatively little money to the party - so HBO need to stump up, or he backs up his team's talk and fights a big name above or below.

Willie Munroe, Wade etc are a joke. HBO have some nerve putting on a fight with a 200/1 challenger in the opposite corner.

He isn't a big middle so stepping up isn't feasible especially when he is on 17 defences. Who at the weight or below is genuinely game? His opponents are awful but nobody wants it! Until someone worth a fukk does people need to shut up.

GGG is an average sized MW at best, I don't take most of the 154-168 talk seriously, and I am fine with him sticking to the division he is best suited to rather than blowing himself up to face significantly bigger opponents. Incidentally, Froch said he was too small for 175, but to me that seemed like a much better fit for him than 168 does for GGG, who would regularly be giving up around 3-4 inches in height, 4-5 inches in reach, and likely several pounds going by his fight night and 30 day weights, with the latter often being just a few pounds above 160.

Also, just 2 fights ago he faced a top 5 opponent in a unification match, and it's not like he's only facing Wade quality opposition. A bout with Canelo would be very big and I hope GGG's side doesn't accept any more step aside conditions.

Rubio held the interim belt when Golovkin beat him I believe

I wouldn't mind seeing GGG in with Jacobs, BJS, Eubank Jnr next. Obviously the first choice is Canelo but he has Khan to deal with first. Even Lee, Trout or Murata are passable fights IMO. If Gonzalez stays at Fly then a rematch with Estrada or a bout with Ruenroeng would be fights I'd look forward to. Plenty good fights to be made.

Couldn't agree more, Reiss is a useless bum and grand-standing blow hard. He's obviously got friends in high places, because he shows no empathy with the boxers he's meant to be looking after, the good for nothing brute.

Re Inoue vs Gonzalez, there's a reason Mr Ohashi wants to make that fight, and it's not just to avenge the Yaegashi fight ;).

He's a danger, he's got a well documented history of letting fighters take a pointless beating. I think the guy must be a sadist.

I agree. He looks perfect for 160, he could probably fight at 168, but he'd be much the smaller man as you say, and would be up against it. Froch apparently walked around very near the 168 limit which always amazed me, as he's a big bastard. Light boned I guess. I'm approaching 15 stone, and even if I was absolutely shredded I'd be 13 stone, and Froch looks significantly bigger than me.

Exactly, he's not known as 'The Butcher' for nothing. We all love a moan about 'British stoppages', but rather that than letting a man take potentially fatal punches he doesn't need to. Awful, awful ref.

I watched him officiate a Mexican championship contest, where he let a guy take countless punches for 2 1/2 rounds after getting knocked down, and clearly not knowing which end his arsehole was - it was absolutely disgusting, and then when he finally did decide to stop it, he waded in as if he was saving his life.

I don't know if the guy ever fought again, but I'd not be surprised if it was his last fight, the punishment he took was frightening.

Yep he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a boxing ring and it's horrific to see that he's getting all the big fights these days.
Heres the fight you're talking about James, anyone who has a look at this from towards the end of the fourth round and tells me this guy isn't a complete incompetent ...and you're probably right he is a sadist, combined with being as thick as fornicate, because he clearly has no clue that he is almost getting someone killed here.
Anyone with that level of low intelligence and complete lack of empathy should not be a referee?
