I was having a discussion with a friend trying to convince me that Ted Cruz is an idiot. Always cracks me up, his own liberal professors call him brilliant.

You're right and your buddy is wrong, and I would never vote for Ted Cruz. Some people can't differentiate between not liking someone and their intelligence.

I did vote for him. No problem with anyone who doesn't care for his policies, but he is by far the most intelligent man/woman in this thing.

here is the thing about ted cruz. he is definitely
not an idiot in the sense of lacking intelligence,
but i guess he is serious with denying global
warming and that makes him a frighteningly dumb
senator.

very strange thing you did there. he is
one of those people where all my alarm
clocks are telling "ruthless, hyper ambitious
liar". the only true values this person holds
are stunningly stupid, like his stance on
global warming.

i am aware that all politicians are to an extent
lying. but he is very special in this respect. no
idea how anyone can fall for these series of
phrases he keeps uttering. it really puzzles me
that people believe a single word he says.

The 5 remaining serious candidates are all quite bright but I agree Cruz is likely the smartest.

Now if you say Sarah Palin is smart than I'll know you're biased. :OhYes:

To be "fair and balanced," I'll name a dumb liberal: Patrick Kennedy. Okay, "dumb" in both instances is a bit of hyperbole, let's say their intelligence is mediocre.

How about voting for the candidate that is the most honest? Cruz is a lying sack of hypocritical dogshit. There is a reason why 99 out of 100 senators hate him.....and its not because he is smart.

The US has no good candidates for president. The best thing for the US would be term limits for congress and senate. It is so politically polarized nothing gets done.

Sanders may be the most genuine of a very ungenuine bunch, but Bernie isn't totally genuine either. He stated that that Hillary was beating him in the South because "The South is the most conservative part of our great country."

While it is true that the South is the most conservative part of the nation, that has absolutely nothing to do with why Hillary is beating him there. Hillary is winning the South due to African American voters.

Sanders would rather have people think conservatives are giving her the advantage there; that is not genuine. He doesn't want to admit that he's not doing well with black folks.

sanders has proven over decades that he can
stick to a very unpopular political conviction.
ted cruz on the other hand would do anything
to get elected, e.g. organise a government
shut down.

reality is that conservative thinking is in terrible
shape in the US. i see myself in many respects
as a conservative, but what is sold under that
cover in US politics right now is very unintelligent
nonsense.

ted cruz is cut from the exact same cloth as richard
nixon. he sees the political game as one where
everybody does everything anyways and values are
just held up for elections. it doesn't mean he has
no core believes, but he is extremely willing to
compromise if it suits his ambition.

Cruz is in the pocket of big business and big oil. He cries crocodile tears about his daughters sharing a public bathroom with transgenders, but if his daughter is raped, he is against the option of abortion. Cruz is a sleazebag in my humble opinion.

Sanders is concerned about the environment and the downtrodden. He is a bit too anti-business for my tastes but I'd prefer him to Cruz.

Cruz has more conviction for his beliefs than any politician I've seen in my lifetime. Exact opposite of what I'm reading here. I'd rather Brut be President than Sanders. Lol

I would prefer a lonely and intelligent socialist become Potus over a brilliant, Machiavellian Dominionist.

I would prefer Kasich over all of them.

reality is that americans have no idea what
they are talking about when they talk about
the socialism bernie sanders is referring to.

it is precisely the political movement that
tony blair represented. not lenin, blair is
the face of socialism which sanders is talking
about.

ted cruz is an american political phenomenon
that has its root at the same place as the rise
of mr trump.

I don't know anyone who considers Sanders a Leninist. He is a populist.

Cruz and Trump did not sprout from the same turd. Trump is in the race to dilute Cruz, and get Clinton elected.
