Joshua vs Breazeale

Post by smiling assassin »

Been confirmed for June 25th. I know virtually nothing of this man so can't really base a opinion, other than if this man was any good we would of heard a lot more of him before now. Looks like they are going to take a mediocre route for the near future

He's still learning even though he has a belt.....Can't be any worse than any of Wilder's defences

A bit disappointing, would have preferred Stiverne or Duhapas, but I will be willing to forgive him if he targets the winner of the Fury/ Klitschko rematch next.

Martin was expected to beat him before pulling out to face Glazkov. Another 2 round demolition in the offing, imo. I'd suggest it's potentially worse than all of Wilder's defences.

Sadly I have watched a couple of Brezeale fights and he is truly, truly dreadful.

Hughie Fury's opponent on Saturday beat Breazeale and was jobbed by the judges. Mansour dropped him and won every round until he quit on his stool.

I would make Charles Martin a heavy favourite if they fought. It's a stinker of a defence a la Brook vs Bizier or Golovkin vs Wade.

It's a lot worse.

Very weak opponent for Joshua.

vote with your money, don't buy the PPV and admonish anybody that mentions they are going to.
Hearn will keep making these fights if people keep buying them...

Yeah 100%. Who cares about the fans though mate when the casuals will lap it up. Eddie Hearn will make millions out of this man. Can't see him getting put in with a live opponent anytime soon

They'll need to fight a danger man sooner or later. Parker Takam winner should be next up. Some folk will still no doubt moan at that too when it happens...

Sounds like everyone is going overboard. It's a first defence against an unbeaten US prospect who is a little bit taller and heavier than Joshua.
It should get some attention in the US. I don't begrudge a gimme. I've seen a little of him and i would rate him as similar to Martin, very big, strong & athletic with very sloppy boxing skills.

Of course it this shouldn't be PPV. I won't pay for it but will find a way to watch but this is a safe defence that should be used as a showcase available to as many people as possible. It would be smarter to make it available to everyone with Sky whether they have Sports or not, pile more casuals onto the gravy train to make them more likely to buy a more worthwhile PPV down the road.

I don't think he should be rushed (this year) into fights with Fury, Klitschko, Povetkin or Ortiz. Other than that he should look to clean up everyone else get some experience and go for the the top guys in 2017.

"Poor Joshua, he is so hard done by. There is no point in him stepping up and fighting good opposition as he'll get no credit, so he might as well keep fighting these bums."

Didn't say that did I? Every time he ko's someone no matter who it is they'll be labelled a bum. This fight is an easy defence which Hearn will try and spin as 'both undefeated former Olympians' blah blah but the Parker Takam winner is a good fight and folk will still moan. If he blasts one of them out they'll be labelled crap! Stop acting like a whinging bitch

I think Parker beats takam and if he does it impressively I'd be surprised if we see Parker in with Joshua next if I'm honest

He's already had a gimme. Joshua is the least credible major title holder in world boxing and this fight will not help to change that.

How can Joshua clean out the rest of the division, in the 6 months after his next fight, before 2017 starts?

Or even in the 18 months after, if he fights one of the top guys on the last day of 2017 or something?

I'm not sure what the truth is where you're concerned. I explained my comment and you only see what you want to see. I could explain it all day and the penny still won't drop. I think you just pick arguements on here when your reloading between furiously masterbating to your Fury/Murray shrine you little troll.

Your explanation was just confirmation that I was right:

"Every time he ko's someone no matter who it is they'll be labelled a bum."

"but the Parker Takam winner is a good fight and folk will still moan."

"If he blasts one of them out they'll be labelled crap!"

Poor Joshua, he might as well just keep fighting chumps.

http://boxrec.com/media/index.php?title=Fight:2035319
* Breazeale loses every round but wins the vacant World Boxing Council Continental Americas title, a significant belt in figuring the WBC heavyweight ratings schematic.

* Mansour won the first five rounds on the judges' scorecards (50-44, 50-44, 50-44), and knocked down Breazeale in the third round for a 10-8 round, who beat the count.

* Mansour inadvertently bit his tongue nearly in half during the second round and could not breathe through his mouth, nor his nose as he entered the bout with a cold. Mansour gave up on his stool.

* Contributing to the tongue injury, Mansour's mouthpiece for this bout was fitted for his upper teeth only.[[1]] It remained a mystery why the partial mouthpiece was even allowed by the C.S.A.C.

* Mansour underwent five hours of surgery and took 36 stitches in his tongue to put it back together, one of the most bizarre injuries ever incurred during a heavyweight bout.

* Despite press reports which 'jumped the gun' and said Mansour had fractured his jaw, causing the stoppage, Mansour's jaw was not fractured, and the early reports turned out to be false.
Poor bugger.

Breazeale was getting dominated by Mansour. He is a very poor opponent for Joshua.

If Joshua is interested in fighting Fury and Haye then why is he only fighting a weakling like this as his first defence?
