Carl Froch V Dale Westerman

Post by steve689 »

How do you all see this going? I see a mid round stoppage for Froch. I saw Westerman in an OPBF Light Heavyweight match with Nishizawa, Westerman looked loose and limber and shuffled about early showing a bit of bravado. However as soon as Nishizawa got close and landed Westerman clutched and grabbed on tight, this leads me to believe that as soon as Froch lands we will see Westerman holding and grappling which will make for a quite ugly fight early. However as soon as Froch starts landing the artillery i am not sure how Westerman will react.

The Aussie also holds his legs very far apart and has a wide stance which will certainly affect his mobility. Apart from round 10 against Nishizawa it was a fairly equal contest, i thought Nishizawa did enough but Westerman took a split. I don't see him on Froch's level and go for Froch TKO6. Any thoughts?

Agree that this will probably end in the mid rounds. I can't imagine Froch would take the fight a month before he goes against Magee if he didn't think he would be in for an easy enough night. It's just a stay busy fight and I would be very surprised if it took anything at all out of him. I'll be there to see it though, also want to get another look at John O'Donnell who I gather got a good reception in Dublin recently. He fights out of Shepherds Bush which is right next to me and his parents are Irish.
