p4p lists are totally voluntaristic/arbitrary. Anyway, first define a criteria.

Behave Horse. This list is biased as almost everyone's will be. I enjoy your lists myself and think you're pretty close with most of it but you have your own biases and I think you'd admit that under different circumstances. Both lists so far have been pretty biased. I'll try to post my own tomorrow, which will also be personally biased I'm sure. The whole p4p is ridiculous anyway. People can't even agree on whether it should represent achievement (and if so how far back do you go?) perceived ability (the eye test), some notion of if each fighter was the same size etc.Horse wrote:Pathetic.Freedom2013 wrote:Sergey Kovalev

This world is becoming intolerable.
Some level of sanity must be maintained.
I'm losing the fricking plot. What's wrong with everyone?

Re: Post your CURRENT top 10 P4P
Based on a list I made in September with a few changes:
1. Gonzalez
2. Kovalev
3. Ward
4. Golovkin
5. Crawford
6. Pacquiao
7. Rigondeaux
8. Inoue
9. Estrada
10. DeGale
Any of the top 4 plus Rigondeaux (who is slipping down my list as his career dissipates) seem perfectly plausible to me - maybe even Pacquiao depending on how you look at it - we had a clear #1 for a while and now we don't, that's all.
Kept Ward ahead of Golovkin by a hair (who'd be my #1 and #2 on eye-test alone) - a Ward-Kovalev winner likely crowns a new #1 for me.
Always end up with an odd one at #10 - maybe it is partly because I just don't rate Canelo that highly. Resume alone and he's a shoo-in, but he lacks a in-ring intelligence that these other guys have (Golovkin, Crawford and Pacquiao (again) would obliterate 2016 Cotto, it's all Saul could do to squeeze contentiously by him). DeGale was a pretty whimsical pick though to be honest.

Re: Post your CURRENT top 10 P4P
i could give you a top 10 but it would be in no certain order(IE 1-10), mine would not be biased, if it was it was biased it would be full of irish because when it comes to sports/ boxing if i do have a bias it would be nationalist. 2 0r 3 of the lads i would have in my top 10 i personally dislike so i would show no bias, for years hated mayweather but wat a beautiful defensive fighter and such quick hands and like or love im he was the fuking man. if you would like me to post the ten people i believe would be the top 10 then i will just for you tanzio( i think you directed the quote at me, im not good with technology) but if it was some sort of snarky comment fair enough ill leave you to you tread have a blastTanzio wrote:By all means, post your top ten so we may criticize your "bias shite."watsupdoc87 wrote:eh i may be wrong here but so far not one mention of fury in the fukin top 10. cmon put the bs aside klit was top 5 in many(not all). this just frustrates me when i read this bias shite

However, besides Kell Brook, do you watch any non-HBO fighters? List seems a little biased, and not in your usual direction.

What's going on?
Any p4p list that doesn't have Danny Garcia is a joke.
Dude is undefeated.
Beat champions.
Beat p4p fighters.
This anti-PBC thing is going too far.

Are Yamanaka, Brook, and Inoue HBO fighters? Which HBO fighters that he listed clearly don't belong in the top ten? Are there supposed to be network quotas?BAD INTENTIONS wrote:I'd like to think that I was the one who influenced Freedom to put Kovalev at #1. I'm proud of us.Freedom2013 wrote:Sergey Kovalev

Also, I have Garcia in my top ten, but he's struggled several times against respectable but unspectacular foes and many thought he lost to Herrera afterthe Lucas fight, so I can see why some would have him just outside. I also think he caught numerous of his 'name' opponents well past their best and believe that the list of guys he's defeated flatters him more than is the case with most of the elite. Still, I think he's a top ten guy and clearly more deserving of a place than someone like Yamanaka.
Aside from Garcia which PBC fighters should be there?

1. Guillermo Rigondeaux
People think GGG is being avoided
2. Gennady Golovkin
Who has crushed the top fighters in their division like him?
3. Sergey Kovalev
Not just the wins, you gotta give points for the dominance.
4. Andre Ward
Fighting again, moves up one slot with every win, the true #1. Unless Kovalev ...
5. Danny Garcia
fornicate that Herrera garbage! Everyone has one of those. Ugly fight.
Danny Garcia is undefeated. Danny Garcia has fought some of the best.
Danny Garcia has beaten the best, and those victories were clear.
6. Roman Gonzalez
Upon further coaxing, I've moved him from #10 to #6. But he needs a real fight.
7. Donnie Nietes
Undefeated since 2007. Champion since 2007.
8. Saul Alvarez
One of the most bogus resumes in boxing.
But, he has to get credit for wins against Lara, Trout and Cotto. On top of that bogus resume.
9. Timothy Bradley Jr.
Remove Manny Pacquiao from the world and he's top 3 p4p.
10. Keith Thurman
Keith Thurman didn't even call out the big names. He just asked the top 10 in his division to fight him.
He seems to get no credit for being ducked from 2013 to the Porter fight.
Undefeated fighter with a solid resume, and impressive results to match.
Close ...
11. Kell Brook
Is he being ducked or is he too busy chasing? His resume outside of Porter is shit.
Not total shit, but not p4p worthy. Needs to fight someone.
12. Naoya Inoue
The Narvaez win is big. But, I need to see more evidence ... one more big win and he leapfrogs a few people.
13. Adonis Stevenson
Needs to fight someone. If he were to fight and beat Kovalev, he'd take his spot immediately.
14. Terrence Crawford
His resume is Gamboa at 135, Ricky Burns
, then a bunch of contenders. And flawed contenders at that.
Crawford should be right about here, poised to take off. Not top 10.
But I see it too. If he beats Postol and one more top fighter, he's top 5.
15. Vasyl Lomachenko
Dude gets roughed up and made to look like an amateur to a dirty Salido. Comes back and beats Russell Jr. Great win.
Fights 3 more guys who most champions beat. And then what ... he's fighting a fourth straight fight against an overmatched opponent.
Before I call Vasyl the truth, he needs to fight another real banger. Prove the loss was a fluke.

Re: Post your CURRENT top 10 P4P
GGG / Roman / Pac / Kovalev have broke away imo, not fussed in which order you go with but that's the top shelf.
Canelo then completes the top 5 in 5th place.
After that the trouble is inactivity. Ward is the glaring one. If he beats Kovalev he goes to #1 imo but he's done nothing since Froch so i find it hard even sticking him above Adonis Stevenson presently.
Couple of ridiculous mentions for Brook and Garcia. Get them to F. Rigondeaux is overrrated but ill give him a top 10 slot. Bradley is underrated and deserves a top 10 slot.
So i'll go something like:
Golovkin
Pacquiao
Kovalev
Roman
Canelo
Ward
Klitchko
Bradley
Rigondeaux
Ramirez

The winners of the these scheduled bouts should get a certain place in top-10 based on their performance:
Crawford/Postol
Klitschko/Fury
Lomachenko/Martinez

Candidates for #10 position: Inoue, Ganny Garcia, Pac, Brook, or maybe even Glowacky/Usyk, Wilder/Povetkin winner
