Looks like a UD for Dirrel.
Don't really know what that means for Blake, But it is no disgrace losing to this guy. Did anyone see it?
Caperello V Dirrel
Re: Caperello V Dirrel
Caparello dropped Dirrell in the second but pretty much all the fight apart from that was Dirrell moving him to the ropes and throwing flashy but not particularly effective flurries while Caparello covered up. Caparello was never in serious trouble but after Dirrell regained control following the knockdown he seemed to resign himself to losing and his offense was limited to single left hands here and there.
At least Blake can say he's dropped world class fighters at 175 and 168, which is kind of ironic given that he has just 6 knockouts in 25 bouts. On the world scene I think he has some credibility as a stay busy opponent for contenders and as a step up opponent for promising up and comers. There's also interesting domestic bouts for him at 168, and I think he'd have solid chances against Geale (past his best and undersized for the weight IMO) and Dunn (strong but limited skill-wise).

Re: Caperello V Dirrel
Dunn and Geale out box him all day long. both were fantastic amateurs, Geale has the footwork to make Cappa miss and chase him all night and Dunn has the ringcraft to cut Cappa off and the power to keep him off and make him run for the ropes and cover up. Danial McKinnon beat him easy, pity the judges robbed him.
Re: Caperello V Dirrel
Crusader has it spot on in his summary. Blake seemed content just to finish the fight and let Dirrell dictate terms, most of which was work Blake onto the ropes and thrash away.
An easy points victory by Dirrell, who over-dosed on the narcissism after the final bell with his mobile.
