Shannon Briggs vs Alexander Dimitrenko
Briggs says it's on. Sascha has a canny chance in this one.
Re: Shannon Briggs vs Alexander Dimitrenko
I'll believe it when I see it.
I was convinced Briggs was just after a cash out fight, but if this comes off he's showing some real ambition.
If Briggs can't blow him out in 3 rounds he's in for a hard night.

So he not on the Haye undercard??
It's a decent match up IMO for that level, I favour Dimitrenko

Shannon will do well to get through this.
I was hoping he'd get a gimme then Haye in the Summer.
Hopefully he gets through and can shout 'let's go champ' with legitimate purpose.

Re: Shannon Briggs vs Alexander Dimitrenko
I allways knew Briggs didn't do it for money, but if he still wants to fight Haye, he could better fight a bum like De Mori for example.
Re: Shannon Briggs vs Alexander Dimitrenko
Fair play to Briggs for taking a meaningful match up. He could've probably got a decent pay day eventually if he kept up the 'lets go champ' stalker routine but this shows a bit of ambition so hats off. Actually hope it works out for him.

Can't see Briggs winning this but fair play to him for taking this fight. Be great if he somehow pulled it off. Let's go champ!
Re: Shannon Briggs vs Alexander Dimitrenko
Dimitenko should take this. I can't see it happening.
Re: Shannon Briggs vs Alexander Dimitrenko
I expect Dimitrenko to pull out for spurious reasons late in the day and Shannon makes do with a knockover to ensure the Haye fight.

Wouldn't surprise me. Either that or Briggs will pull out. He just wants a cash out, not a low money fight he can actually lose.deadpan wrote:I expect Dimitrenko to pull out for spurious reasons late in the day and Shannon makes do with a knockover to ensure the Haye fight.

Re: Shannon Briggs vs Alexander Dimitrenko
Shannon will chase very slowly.
Dimitrenko will move around surprisingly fast for a heavyweight but not throwing much.
The key will be around rounds 3 or 4. Dimitrenko hates throwing combos. If Shannon can catch him he may make Dimitrenko sulk and give up around round 9. neither has much stamina. however I think the expected result will be Dimitrenko on points.
I think ive covered most bases there....
an early Ko win for either would be impressive...(if that makes sense)

Can't see the fight going ahead either. Shannon Briggs is very popular right now. Even though he was only good fighter, not great when he was in his prime. He's done really well acting like an idiot as the more impressionable boxing fans actually think he's a top 10 fighter now.
He's just after that one last big payday. He wont be getting much fighting Dimitrenko and Dimitrenko would beat him too. Briggs is a sitting duck after 3 rounds. I don't think David Haye wanted to fight Briggs, so he's bought in someone to beat him. David Haye has played a blinder. As he'll have the last laugh if Briggs pulls out. As he clearly stated if Briggs wins on his show he'll fight him next.

Re: Shannon Briggs vs Alexander Dimitrenko
Unlike David Haye and unlike Gjergjaj, Demitrenko is indeed a big, tall, natural heavyweight with a good record. He is in shape and is clearly a better boxer as Gjergjaj for example. It's a smart move from Daffy to select such a top 40 ish guy who's currently ranked lower, just to let Briggs look like bad.
