GH Carnall Leisure Centre - RESULTS!!!
This afternoon saw another great show by VIP promotions. The GH Carnall Leisure Centre in Manchester, witnessed VIP's Ali Nuumbembe win on points over 8 rounds against Sergey Starkov. Danny Harding, Craig Bunn & Mark Thompson also won on points, whilst Gary O'Conner had an early night after a fourth round TKO win against Lance Verallo.
Was a great show, with an amazing atmosphere. The band was very good and really got the place buzzing.
The fights were very good too, with some nice boxing on show, very refreshing.
BIG respect to Sergey Starkov he took Ali the distance but took a lot of punishment, how he stayed on his feet I will never know.
He certainly is a tough, tough guy. Mind you anyone who lives in minus 55 degrees has got to be tough.
Lets hope the Commonwealth boxing board see sense and make Ali mandatory for the title.

shannons gym fighters ali and rocco both boxed very well and controlled,starkov was very awkward to look good against and impossible to hurt it would seem,but ali was great and was bouncing punches of starkovs head and body for the full 8 rounds,hope c/wealth council give ali his crack at the title,anderson is dangerous but i think ali has a great chin and would more than match the scots strenth and fittness
