Mayweather vs Canelo II (May 6th) 50th

Post by bnovelist »

Now other than Pac, this is the fight that would warrant a $100million payout that Floyd is requesting..... :box: Fight Canelo at 154lbs as his

comeback fight and stay in shape, stay sharp up until then. The vastly improved Canelo Alvarez vs Coming Out of Retirement Floyd Mayweather Jr

this is the best fight financially other than Manny that can be made! Who wins this one?

Honestly I dont mind waiting a year for this matchup. It's too much of a marquee fight remember the buzz the 1st time around imagine their

rematch Floyd returning for win 50? This is the type of fight where you can strike up conversations with people anywhere like the Pacquaio fight!

This is the type of fight that brings people together! This is the most important fight in ALL of boxing if Mayweather/Pac II can't happen.

A 40 Year old Floyd and a prime Canelo might not be the ideal fight for Floyd to get that 50th win.

Floyd has a lotta respect for Canelo he's said he made it look easy but it wasn't, Canelo who was still very green at the time made floyd rise even to the occasion not sure if he can do it again at 40

If he does, which I hope not, my prediction is that he will fight Danny Garcia. Undefeated Champion that KO'd the guy Canelo is fighting. Garcia also has a style that suits him. Not an easy fight for a 40 yr old guy, but winnable.

Much better fight, canelo couldn't beat a 50 yr old Floyd.

There's only 3 fights that can get him "9 figures" pac, canelo(assuming a win over Amir) and GGG at 154

Since Floyd wants no part of GGG, that only leaves 2

Unless he was saying he was getting 9 figures for maybe a 2 fight deal. Then names like Garcia, Amir, cotto, etc etc could come into play

Sounded like he wants no part of GGG or Thurman, that point was very clear

Canelo is bigger now so Floyd can drain him down again.

It would be taking the piss if Canelo complained about that though, wouldn't it?

If Floyd fought him it would be for the 155lb Middleweight title. No reason not to use that belt for marketing.

Pacquiao is the only one who will bring the $ Floyd wants, and I bet that rematch is much better than the first fight

A new May vs Pac ppv wouldn't sell a third of what they did the previous time.

Sure it would. And how much is a third, a half, of what they did before? oh yeah much much more than any other fight lol.

My guess is Mayweather is probably gonna go with Broner. I feel like the Ashley Theophane fight was the precursor. It's the easiest fight he could take with one of the highest payloads. Hardcore fans are gonna hate it but the casuals will eat it up

No point in this rematch, if Canelo is still available for this rematch a year from now it can only be because he's ducked Golovkin all that time in which case the rematch with Floyd won't mean much. Because it'll be an old man vs a coward.

You should notice neither floyd or canelo ever talk about fighting each other again - the first fight was a business deal - haymon paid canelo the $5 000 000 bonus to go soft on floyd - google: al haymons alleged sex tape for the inside scoop - Floyd doesnt want the rematch and Canelo knows he can't have it -

Hes joking. Obviously there is no Haymon sex tape or bribery that took lace oscar hates Floyd and wouldn't let canelo lose on purpose.

I love how Floyd shows up to "show his support for Badou Jack" this weekend. How does Floyd show him support? By trying to steal the show away from him with his pathetic planned announcement prior to his fight. The following days, you couldn't find an update on the fight but Floyd coming out of retirement was everywhere you looked.

Floyd showing his lack of class once again.

I hate Floyd, i'd love to knock him out, but...

...he always shows support to his fighters, been at Love fights aswell, or when Jack been knocked out by Edwards.

That'd be better than Canelo who he's already shut out with ease. No way Floyd is getting a 9 figure payday for that though. Unless a promoter is willing to lose Millions just to satisfy Floyd's ego...and nobody is willing to do that.

He wouldn't make that kinda money to fight Canelo either.

Nah I don't think he'll get anywhere near the money he thinks he will but it'll still no doubt be a career best pay day for his 'last fight'. The Garcia fight doesn't really excite me tbh. It's a one sided easy win all day long for Floyd.

He'll never beat the payday he got for Pacquiao 1. He'd even have to fight Pac 2 more times to get that again.

Floyd WOULDN'T fight Canelo at 155... or even 154... The 152 catch-weight and 165 rehydration limit were brilliant calculations by the Mayweather team for their fight... Canelo had no strength and or activity level, he was a parched parrot.. You saw how Cotto worked Floyd with his superior jab and bunged Floyd's nose up real good.. Cotto wasn't able to land his jab as well on Canelo or Trout as he did on Floyd - because they were bigger, stronger, and enjoyed fully replenished energy at 173 plus in the ring.. Canelo would be capable at 155 and fully replenished in the ring.. He's a fully matured Middleweight.

Floyd wouldn't take that fight in a million years -- GUARANTEED!!!!!! -- He'd demand Canelo come down to 152 again ... and even the money might not do that again. That was a tough experience. Floyd warned there would be NO FIGHT if Canelo were overweight. Brilliant.
