Some quiz questions

Post by DaveyMac »

These are just for fun :)
No cheating!

1) Since the advent of the 165 Middleweight in the Olympics, three USA middleweights have gone on to win the HEAVYWEIGHT championships of the world, who are they?

2) Two men who represented the USA at 165 in the Olympics also won National Golden Gloves at 165, who are they?

3) I'm the only man to beat Sugar Ray Robinson and Floyd Patterson? Who am I?

4) Although Archie Moore had 23 losses, only 4 came after 1950. Three are HOFers and HW Champs Muhammad Ali, Floyd Patterson and Rocky Marciano, who is the fourth?

2. Floys Patterson? Michael Spinks?

3.Joey Maxim.

ketchel has them all right except for Virgil Hill, the other one on #2 is Marvin Johnson.

Kind of crazy that we've had 3 MW Olympians be HW champ of the world.

Johnson was a typo/mistake on my part. :( Sorry guys.

On Virgil Hill I have to hold my head in shame, not sure how I missed him! You are right. Extra points?

And to think that Calzaghe beat Chris Byrd as an amateur.

I looked at question and actually, Moore lost only 5 after 1950. I was thinking to Ezzard Charles, who owned Archie Moore 3 times before 1950 and I believe that the third U.S. Olympian who fought at middleweight is Chris Byrd like Ketchel answered. Anyways, crl333 got it right for question 4. :TU:
