I thought DeGale lost that fight by 2 maybe even 3 rounds. Medina threw 3 times as many and landed twice as much. His body shots were bang on everytime.

Boxing is a total con job. Two judges having DeGale the winner by 6 rounds. I may not be a boxing fan much longer. True enough. I had DeGale winning but to be fair to the other dude I think it's the way he fights that is hard to score. He looks great then sits back and let's his opponent throw all sorts. He sits on the ropes far too much.

By most accounts Degale looked rubbish against a guy that Badou Jack stopped in 6 rounds.

I know that doesn't tell the full tale and I haven't actually seen the fight, but Degale can be so lazy at times.

Is Eddie Hearn gonna let Callum Smith stay unactive or just give him knockover jobs until his title shot arrives? After Eddie and Degales recent 'beef' would it be and idea to put him in with Medina and make a statement or would it be too dangerous?

DeGale looked poor, but to be honest Jack and Bute didn't look good either. The SMW division has no elite fighters now Froch and Ward are no longer there. GGG should step up and smash his way through, absolutely nothing to fear at 168.

DeGale at his best would give anyone problems. He's just not fluent or consistent enough. He couldn't do the whole sitting on the ropes thing against a concussive puncher like GGG. You're right about 168 though. It isn't what it was. Even when you look at the super 6 which wasn't long ago it puts today's division in the shade. Guys like Kessler, Ward, Froch and even Calzaghe seem like a distant memory nowadays.

Occasionally DeGale does seem to revert. It's almost as if he's gotten better at pretending to be likeable, rather than actually at being likeable.

if degale had a brain that could switch on he would be unbeatable,i love watching him fight throws class punches out of no where from all angles , reminds me of naz . just his mind wonders of for so many rounds and then has to grind out win , though i thought he won this fight quite easy, i think he will make jack look very ordinary if he is switched on
