CANELO-CON IS A MAJOR RIPOFF OF THE FANS

Post by Kalan »

Khan barely beat feather hitter Cris Algieri… Amir wasn’t fast to evade Algieri’s less than sharp punches… He was forced to run and grab for 12 and landed NOTHING telling or damaging all night long on Algieri—who he was fighting to avoid Kell Brook.

In SHARP CONTRAST the fast, skilled, and powerful Errol Spence completely boxed Algieri’s ears off. He kept bouncing Chris off the canvas like a basketball and blew him away early… Spence would be a much more appropriate Welterweight for Canelo to fight – but he would probably KO Canelo much like Golovkin would do given the chance.

In fact… Khan has been cherry picking light hitters ever since Danny Garcia beat the living dingleberries out him, and stopped the punching bag Khan in a mere 4 rounds… Canelo is a bigger hitter than Garcia – so Khan has NO CHANCE IN HELL.. Khan is taking this fight to avoid: Brook, Spence, Thurman, and Porter, ALL of whom would be appropriate opponents for Khan ... but Amir is afraid of them. He's not afraid of Canelo because losing to a massive favorite isn't going to ding him. It's like De La Hoya fighting Bernard Hopkins. He took a rather medium hit to the body and took the count, and because nobody expected him to win it didn't hurt him. It won't hurt Khan.

Canelo is NOT an appropriate opponent for Khan… This is a MAJOR RIPOFF of the fans. When is the last time Khan beat ANY legitimate Top-10 Welterweight??? He never has.. Canelo beat a legitimate Top-10 Middleweight in Miguel Cotto who he stepped in front of Mandatory Challenger Golovkin to fight. Now a chinny Welterweight named Amir Khan is being allowed to step in front of GGG. It's ridiculous.

Making opponents weigh in at less than the MW limit doesn't make you 'legitimate'.

Many will... The fight is being very heavily marketed... Canelo fans don't know any better and don't care... Just so he gets a sucker to KO...that's the main thing for them... This is what happens when fans buy non-competitive 2nd rate fights... You get a lot more fights like them.

Cute but stupid.

When Gigi starts beating real fighters, not slugs like Wade, Ishida, Stevens, Adama or the dreaded Fuchigami, then I'll have reason to believe that Canelo might be "chicken."

The Mexican has dismantled true boxing stars like Cotto, Kirkland, Trout and Lara and will take out a multi-division champion on Saturday. Gigi only fights the dregs and proclaims himself a superstar. What a farce. And you, of course, buy into it.

Gigi should kiss Canelo's rear if the Mexican consents to give him a shot at the real middleweight title. Canelo doesn't need to pad his record. It speaks for itself.

Gigi needs the fight to gain any credibility and should be happy to earn $1 million. His dismal PPV numbers against Lemiuex demonstrates that he needs Canelo. Canelo, on the other hand, has no need for the Russian prima donna.

Finally a knowledgeable poster.

Not some fanboy hanging off GGG's nuts at every turn.

I've been saying that for a while its beyond me the GGG nutthuggerry that goes on around here despite the guy beating NOT one single elite fighter.

Truly unbelievable.

If people hear it enough times, they will believe anything. Khan will say over and over he will beat Canelo. Oscar will say Khan is a huge threat over and over. They have to sell the fight. "Pacquiao and Mayweather were afraid to fight Khan". I have said before - you are only as good as your last fight, and for Khan - he looked about even with a guy that is considered a gatekeeper at 147.

All that said, I would love it if Khan beat Canelo. That would make me laugh for weeks, maybe months.

He's Canelos mando, who's supposed to be a real fighter but has somehow devolved into a joke in the past 6 months. Wonder what happened there.

Anyway GGG does not need starlet Canelo, he'll take the belt and Canelo can stay on the fringes of the division until the undisputed champ with record # of defenses is ready to move up. He'll badly disappoint guys like Chavez SR, Morales, Barrera who all agree this is the biggest fight in boxing, but he caters to the younger, more casual fan anyway.

Why does ggg need canelo? To make money - yes. To prove any sort of legitimacy - no. When canelo fights at 160 and allows his opponents to fight at 160 and he wins it will prove legitimacy.

Multi-division champion? Khan has only won one legit world title and winning vacant WBC Silver titles and international titles does not make a multi-division champion and Khan should not be worthy of fighting for the Lineal middleweight title! At the end of the day the OP is right. Khan has been handpicked for slaughter.

...the same Kikrland who was stopped in 1 by "slug" Ishida?
No one will defend Fuchigami ...though I suggest everyone watches his fight with Sato, they will NOT regret it!

He's trying to big Khan up to make Canelo seem more impressive.

Funny, because in other threads he will talk Khan down because he doesn't understand the concept of fighters outside of the US or Mexico being capable.

Very interesting fight. It's hard to imagine Canelo not catching him and it's equally hard not to imagine Khan dominating until he does.

I think the Canelo/Cotto snoozer makes it hard for me to pay for much more Boxing on PPV. I'm deciding between this and UFC next week.

You can only fight the Middleweights who will get into a ring with you stupid... Golovkin has 3 World Middleweight Titles and Canelo hold the Lineal Title through the corruption that is in Boxing...though he's fought no Middleweights... The WBC is being paid off.

Honestly I don't think He's ducking GGG, he just wants to fight on his (questionable) terms.

Yes, he doesn't want to fight prime GGG. The coward thinks that if he drains Golovkin, he will have better chances to survive and get a gift decision. At 160, he gets stopped.

Khan didn't even dominate Algieri. I expect him to fight Hunter instilled wardish touch'n'grab style making it hard to watch until Canelo drops him cold.

Yeah I was very surprised at the subdued pace of the Canelo and Cotto fight. I mean I didn't think the fight sucked, but it certainly didn't provide nearly the amount of action I anticipated going in.
