Andy Ruiz is fighting Ray Austin on May 14th

Post by GilFilmore »

Andy Ruiz made a name for himself as a rising heavyweight 2 years ago. Lack of dedication has slowed up his progress since. He's fighting former world title challenger and 46 year old Ray Austin on May 14th

Thoughts??

I didn't know Ray Austin was still active. Should be an easy win for Ruiz.

NOBODY wants to fight Andy Ruiz... Not since he murdered rising prospect 21-0 Joe Hanks... He's been letting everybody go the distance and he still can't get appropriate opponents... STOP asking why good fighters are fighting 2nd raters... START asking why they can't get appropriate fights.

Canelo recently said... "Golovkin has to prove himself" ... He's been the mandatory challenger for the last 3 Lineal Middleweight Champions and they keep getting "exceptions" to fight 2nd raters... Everybody has been advising Canelo NOT to fight Golovkin. They can keep paying the WBC off forever and keep avoiding him. I doubt if they'll strip him like they promised often.

LOL remember when Hammer was putting a whopping on Ruiz and then mentally folded in his corner? lol Hammer was lighting fatboy up like a christmas tree.

Ruiz has fast hands but he ain't doing NO damage in the Heavyweight division period.

He's an okay fighter that can be in some exciting fights but seriously they need to step this guy up already it's disgusting. Put him in with some top 50 fighters already

To be honest I see Andy Ruiz topping off with a career high win against someone like Aerrola.

Can you imagine if somehow Ruiz landed a fight against someone like Fury, Wilder, Klit, AJ or Ortiz??? that'd be a massacre, he's just to short, fat, lacking KO power reach/mobility

I like the guy but they really need to start selling this guy for what he is and putting him in a round a bout with guys in the top 50 like Big baby Miller/D.Whyte. If they keep matching him with guys like Austin, he's just a fat slob with hairy bologna tits and I refuse to watch him UD hopeless fighters

I rarely ever see his fights aired on TV anyhow.

I guess not really TV material lol. I did hear he was trying to lose weight though. I was some what interested in the potential Ruiz-Ibeabuchi fight.
it just seems Ruiz's team wants to keep padding his record I guess they're just buttering Ruiz up to cash him out :OhYes:

Ruiz is a low grade imitation of Arreola. Unmotivated, untalented and a tub of goo.

Fighting someone who hasn't fought in two years isn't a good sign.

Why would a 26-0, age 26 boxer want to fight poor old inactive Ray Austin?

Already said yesterday, this fight seems to me like a lot more health risky as any Briggs fight.

That Hamer fight was an interesting one. In addition to fast hands and skills, it proved Ruiz has a good chin and the will to win.

I gather it has been some years since the time during which Ray Austin could not be stopped with conventional weapons.

Ray Austin's work ethic is almost as bad as Tor Hamer's.

Austin was leading against both Stiverne and Solis and basically pulled a Golota without the low blows. Austin quit in both fights.

I saw Solis-Austin live and when Austin was walking back to the dressing room he raised his arms as though he won. Very strange.

Hearn ruled him out as a potential opponent for Joshua becsuse he didn't believe casual followers of the sport would buy into Ruiz as an opponent because of his physique. A pity as I think he's pretty good.

Ruiz' team turned down both AJ and Luis Ortiz
