Brook vs Provodnikov
Brook vs Provodnikov
Looks as though Eddie is still struggling to make this 'mega' summer fight for Brook he has promised. He ain't getting Thurman, Porter, Bradley, Khan, cotto and doesn't look like Garcia either. Vargas yes its a unification but its still not a big fight, Broner is one for the media and casuals and Spence will be the mandatory for next year. I think a fight against Provodnikov in the mean time after his June fight could be a fun fight to watch. I'd fancy Brook on points but surely Provodnikov still has enough to make Brook really work with his granite chin and non stop pressure style. I'd also think that Eddie could get him over here cheap as well.

I'd rather see him fight Broner than Provodnikov to be honest.

Re: Brook vs Provodnikov
Not interested in seeing a Ruslan fight- he's nothing but a punch bag. As most people knew Hearn was going to struggle getting Kell a big fight - even more so as he seems to be still trying to drag fighters over here. I'm looking forward to hearing fast ed's BS excuses or to avoid that I reckon he will get Kell to announce an injury to buy more time till the end of the year
Re: Brook vs Provodnikov
I could see Kell giving Provodnikov a whore of a beating and it being stopped. Not the kinda fight I was hoping for. Bradley, Sammy Vasquez, Spence, Vargas are all good opponents. Christ even Berto or Rios are better options. Rios would be much the same fight as Provodnikov but I would enjoy watching him being beat up a lot more. Can't stand the twat.
Re: Brook vs Provodnikov
Not keen on it. Think Eddie can do better and will do better. Ruslan is a weight too small and is made for Brook. If Brook's fighting three times a year every year this is excusable in a busy champ kind of way. But they have to make the fights count, given Kell is seemingly injured every year and with IBF mandos looming.
I'm so glad the Brandon Rios fight never happened. That was aiming too low.

Yup he needs Garcia or winner of Thurman/Porter.
Last I heard Jessie Vargas was in the pipeline whcih wouldn't be a bad shout; doesn't exactly make the blood race but at least he's got the opportunity to pick up another belt.

Re: Brook vs Provodnikov
Not sure why Provodnikov doesnt have more fans, he's an absolute beast. Brook could outbox him fairly easy imo, but Brook also likes getting macho, if he went toe-to-toe he would be the one backing up. Matthysse hits like a truck and when he stood with Provodnikov he realised he could only win by boxing on the back foot.
There's always been a bit of a question mark over Brook for me, he's not been in with anyone particularly great and i keep thinking about the war he found himself in with Carson Jones. Give me Provodnikov for the upset.

Re: Brook vs Provodnikov
Hope not. Provos skillset is deteriorating rapidly.
No more head movement, even slower feet and everything in straight lines.
This fight would be a savage beating forcing a refs intervention.
Vargas would be a good fight. The big names he's going to struggle to get over here especially the PBC fighters.

Prov is C-Level at best. Brook should be fighting better.
Re: Brook vs Provodnikov
I love Provodnikov and would be rooting for him hard against Brook. That being said, I don't think he has a particularly good chance here, and expect he'd be outboxed thoroughly. I'd prefer not to see the fight, but I'd be rooting for Provo to pull off the upset.
