So which 160lb fighters has Alvarez defeated to be the second best? And does being second best in a division qualify for world greatness?
how long has he been in the division
Given the catch-weight nonsense... not yet. If the fellow wants to fight in the middleweight division he should fight some middleweights.
Makes sense. But HBO and the WBC are working in tandem on a made up weight division. HBO has no PPV stars except Canelo. They want to keep this going as long as possible.

He has done this in the past too. What he said means nothing. The WBC needs to take the strap. But HBO is in on this too.
Yep he said the same thing after Cotto "Hell yeah I'll fight GGG next" then lo and behold he didn't.
Exactly. HBO is paying for their last PPV boxing star to have a made up weight class.

All fighters at 160. He should be fighting at 154 and if he dominates the division so be it. But do not parade around as the MW champ and fight at 155. I do not even know if he beats Lemeiux.

GGG is the fight people want. There's nobody else that people care about right now. So there's nobody else for him to duck.

It will not. HBO is gonna pay the WBC just as they have been to let this drag on.

Post Fight Press Conference Oscar said he'll be calling GGG tomorrow. Take that for whatever you think it's worth.

At this point it doesn't really matter what Khan does for a while. He's got his 13 Mil. I'm sure the schedule will be a lot lighter for a while.

He said "We don't f*ck around in Mexico, and I ain't scared of nobody" so yeah he basically said he'd fight him. Oscar said the Post Fight Interview he'll be calling GGG tomorrow.

Big talk, but we've heard that before. Let's see if the deal actually gets made.

No he did not. He talked his usual bullshit. GGG missed the chance though to get in the ring and get right in canelo's face to stir this up. GGG is not doing his part. Too nice of a guy.

ODH is going to be calling him and asking for the fight will not to be at 160. GGG's team has already been told that if you are handed the belt because Canelo is stripped that will do you no good. You have to agree to a catchweight. So far GGG has said no. So we will see. ODH is calling GGG about a catchweight that is all.

But he gets to avoid the Brook fight. A fight he never wanted.

Team GGG should counter offer with a catchweight of 158. That way Canelo still gets to feel like he's getting an advantage even though he's really not. At 158 GGG will still be at full strength

Doesn't really matter now does it? I mean if Brook fought Khan straight off this loss Brook wouldn't get the same credit for it. It's not like the Welterweight division doesn't have several good fighters to fight.

One judge only gave Khan a single round.......GGG better trash Canelo because Saul consistently benefits from very biased scoring.

Canelo is durable though and cards in several of his fights have been extremely generous to him....I hope it's not a case where Canelo pretty much only needs to go 12.

He's gonna lose every round and get beaten to a bloody pulp. It'd have to be the biggest robbery ever, and it'd have to be a near miracle for him to make it to the finish line.
