GGG via a late stoppage in a fairly one-sided fight, but Canelo wins a couple of rounds.

I can see Canelo gutting it out and going the distance by the skin of his teeth.

Then getting a BS SD which everyone thinks is insane. Then he never fights GGG ever again.

It will be a classic I was thinking Canelo but i'm not so sure after watching Khan make him miss for 5 round's and generally out smart him GGG is very under-rated thinker when people look at him because most people just see a wrecking machine GGG boxing skill will never get the kudos it deserves because he is the biggest punching Middleweight Champion for year's he has that Tyson aura about him I think GGG has no fear of Canelo and i'm not so sure Canelo feels the same way............................I pick GGG to Ko Canelo in round 9 in a barn-burner :TU:

Yup agree. Fairly dominant, may lose couple rounds, but GGG wins handily

For those of you thinking Canelo will only win a couple of rounds, you clearly have not paid attention to how judges favor Canelo in fights. GGG will have to KO Canelo, or win a very lopsided decision....wait, forget that. GGG needs to KO Canelo to win. Floyd shut out Canelo, schooled him,and escaped with a decision that was scored even on one card. If Canelo ends the fight on his feet, he wins.
By the way, I predict GGG wins by 9th or 10th round KO.

HBO may try to sell it that way to keep their PPV star alive but I disagree with you. GGG if he won a decisive decision that would be fine. Floyd won a decisive decision. Canelo has never even been down has he? If GGG wins the fight over Canelo he remains undefeated and can look for his next fight or option. Saying he must win by KO is just setting him up for failure.

It's definitely a possibility. Canelo might last the distance, he has a solid chin.

That being said, I think the most likely outcome is GGG by KO/TKO.

The scores of Canelo's fights consistently suggest that the judges are on his side, and the even card against Mayweather is one of the worst ever. I like GGG here, but if he doesn't get a stoppage he better have done a number on Alvarez.

Canelo may have the talent, but he doesn't appear to have the belief that he can beat Golovkin, otherwise this fight would been signed & sealed with no pathetic catchweight claptrap involved.

Alvarez needs to man up, or get back down to 154 & stop devaluing the middleweight title.

I think a lot of the rubbish scorecards in Canelo fights are mainly due to him being the aggressor (Khan, Lara, Mayweather, Cotto, Trout all ran), can't see that being the case against Golovkin so would be surprised if he managed to get a robbery against him. Still think GGG has an easy nights work and stops him mid to late

No chance.

Canelo has a great chin.

GGG wins, but it won't be a walk in the park. Canelo is good, and he is big enough. If he weighs 175 on fight night, (which he did on this occasion apparently) he will probably be heavier than GGG.

GGG is a better all around fighter, and I expect him to win, but no way will he just destroy canelo.

.

Against welterweights? I don't thinks its remotely proven what his chin is like against any legit 160lber, never mind a legit puncher at 160.....

This is of course true. The fact though that I've not seen him so much as blink when tagged, and the fact he has a head like a cinder block, leads me to believe he will also be solid against a genuine MW.

I think Canelo is a very good fighter, despite the ridiculous catchweights, I think he's the mustard. I think GGG is better, certainly at MW, but Canelo will do ok in their fight should it happen, I doubt he will be disgraced.

canelo would have his moments, his combination punching going on, but ultimatly he is to flat footed, to slow, to ecape the elite power, i mean ggg realy got julian jackson kind of power, canelo, or most everybody cant handle that, add to that solid guard and you got a very destructive guy in ggg. you beat ggg by athletiscm, by lateral movemant, by footwork, like lara or jones middleweight version. or you got julian jackson kind of power yourself, like hagler or tito.

I'd fancy Golovkin with a late stoppage.

I really rate Canelo and he can give GGG some tough moments but GGG may well turn out to be the fighter of the generation. Easily the best MW since Hagler.

GGG is all wrong for Canelo. Too clever and accurate. Canelo will have his moments and his fans will go mad be I think the fight will eventually be punched out of him. Maybe getting stopped on his feet or by his corner. Golovkin is just better than him in every department. I still don't think we've seen GGG get out of second gear.

If this fight is at 160 GGG wins by TKO. No question about it.

He wins at 155 too...both will weigh in 155 and be 170 fight night.
