Kell Brook vs Saul Alvarez

Post by big lennox »

Khan showed again that Alvarez can be outboxed, and Brook has better boxing skills than Khan, I believe, and takes a better shot. Could be his shot into the super league. As for Khan, I hope he retires now. He has suffered three bad knockouts and would likely lose by knockout to Brook and again to Garcia. Continuing to get knocked out will impact on his long-term health.

Kell Brook has the same chance Amir Khan had against Alvarez, none.

He'd be underdog, but he'd had a shot.

Alvarez would probaly love this; another blown up welterweight to defend his 155lb crown against. :witzend:

Saying that, Brook will certainly make him work more for his money.

I get the impression that Brook is a quality operator & a tough cookie, but it's hard to really tell as the IBF keep putting piles of horse sh!t in front of him to fight!

100% Kell would give Alvarez a hard night. No doubt even if it was a landslide like Khan had in the first 5 rounds the judges would have it for Alvarez.

You learn all you need to know about Kell Brook from which of the two fighters he called out. Did he call out Alverez who knocked Khan spark out to try to win the middle weight title, or did he call out the bloke who was left flat on his back?

He called out the one he would make the most money from fighting. The one he has had a rivalry with since turning pro. The one that is a bigger fight in the UK.

Knowing him he would fight anyone!

He called out his domestic welterweight rival (not a middleweight), I can't say I'm shocked.

Brook would have very little chance against Alvarez (although there's zero chance of them actually meeting anyway).

Neither can I, that's kind of my point.

Its a shame his promoters wont let him fight who he says he wants to fight then! World champions should fight world champions and not chase fights with people who have just been kod badly

One turned pro at lightweight, the other as a welterweight. If that's classed as a rivalry from the start it tells you everything you need to know about Brook, he doesn't want big fights he's just obsessed with Khan. Don't think Khan had even got up yet before he started calling him out again.

Welterweight's don't have a good record against Canelo unless your Mayweather.............. Brook would get Ko'd for sure round 3.

I doubt Alvarez and his people are even thinking about Brook as a potential opponent at the moment.

Brook has no value stateside, he woud be of no interest to Canelo.

Brook chooses his shots well, hits hard and moves good. I would favour him to make a better account of himself than Khan did against Canelo. Would have said the same before that KO also.

Im not saying Brook would beat Canelo but id be surprised to see him get wiped out early.

Khan being up on the scorecards is being looked into too much. I think many welterweights could go in there with Canelo and steal rounds until he eventually caught up with them and finished them in that fashion. There werent many surprised, we all said khan could steal it on the cards if he could stay out of trouble but he didnt.

Canelo also deserves credit, he was working Khans body from early on at every opportunity then a faint to the body dropped the hands for the overhand right. That wasnt a lucky shot, it was clearly planned and well executed.

Bit of a trade mark move from Canelo, he TRIED it on Mayweather a few times , but the operative word being TRIED .Regards Brook i really do think if you sit down and analize it , you will come to the conclusion he would get hammered against Canelo , probably stopped earlier , and definetly not in front on points when he gets stopped .

Theres a reason his promoter is very careful who he puts him in with , and its not money , they could sell enough ppv's to get many a good fighter to come over , BUT THEY DON'T ,they get the Gavins , ect ect . Truth is Brooks is a european class fighter who has had ONE decent win , and even then, he did'nt kick the door down and announce himself to the world .

Regards Khan well it would still sell, and would be a good money fight for both , but not likely to happen ,because Khan obviuosly really believes he's world class / champion level , and Brooks is European , got lucky level

Who would win , well just like Canelo probably Khan on points , Brooks on Ko , but more even stevens 50-50 fight. To make it 70 - 50 Khans favor , he would have to go get another trainer , he's not actually looking much better with Virgil , in fact to me he seems to have regressed in his fitness, wether thats down to Khan himself leading a playboy lifestyles and not fighting regular enough, or his trainer not demanding enough in the gym , i don't know ,, but i do know he tires a lot quicker than a top line fighter should do

Im not a Kell Brook fanboy who thinks he can rule the world but I totally disagree that hes a european level fighter. At the moment however it is all about opinions until he is truly tested.
