Alverez cotto 2
Alverez cotto 2
Yahoo sport saying cotto- Alvarez rematch nearly signed already, so much for fighting GGG. https://sports.yahoo.com/news/canelo-al ... 10078.html
Re: Alverez cotto 2
hopefuly not. to me canelo clearly won and improved since. he will only be more clearer against an old boxer.
bring on the stronger one of the charly bros, a young undefeated opponent, that would be good.
or even pacquiao, who looked at times like the pacquiao of old times.
pacquiao, charlo, if the ggg fight doesnt happen any time soon.

Re: Alverez cotto 2
If this is true Canelo and his team are blatantly ducking GGG. It'll be clear for everyone to see. If he doesn't fight GGG after all his talk after Khan last night then he loses credibility. He's backed in to a corner now and he has to fight or be stripped. Make it happen. GGG will absolutely take him apart.

Don't tell me, it'll be at 155lbs?
The WBC needs to create a new weight class for these two:-
Cottoweight?
Caneloweight?
155weight?

Why? The fight is in the middleweight limit, if both fighters agree who really cares?Syntax Error wrote:Don't tell me, it'll be at 155lbs?![]()

Re: Alverez cotto 2
This has to be a troll. If canelo doesnt fight GGG now like others have said...It's a blatant duck.
Re: Alverez cotto 2
That is a bunch of bullcrap. If that was true, Canelo and DLH would keep talking about Golovkin undeserving or insist on 155 pounds. They wouldn't be saying that Canelo has no problem fighting GGG next at 160. DLH even explicitly said "no Cotto rematch". Maybe there were negotiations, but they failed.
Re: Alverez cotto 2
Does anyone, for one minute, think Canelo is ducking the fight with GGG? If it doesnt happen its down to "the suits" not the fighters.
Re: Alverez cotto 2
Yeah right. Canelo has proven to be nothing but a coward.Wales wrote:Does anyone, for one minute, think Canelo is ducking the fight with GGG? If it doesnt happen its down to "the suits" not the fighters.
Re: Alverez cotto 2
Anyone whos ever had anything to do with the sport knows that the fighters themselves believe theyre, unquestionably, the best. Its the politics and team behind them that scupper fights. Canelo is 100% sure he will beat GGG, without question or doubt.

Alvarez / Cotto 2? Not happening. http://www.BS.com/de-la-hoya-n ... ng--104356
Re: Alverez cotto 2
Not surprised. Fully expect Canelo GGG to be made.
Re: Alverez cotto 2
I am not so sure it will happen. Boxing only has one PPV star. Does HBO really want their only PPV boxer to lose. They have tried to shove down the public's throats Choclitito Gonzalez and sell him as the Pound for pound best fighter in the sport but that hasn't worked at all. The public just is not buying it. It was a desperate attempt by HBO. I am not sure HBO wants to put Alvarez at any risk at all. He is their piggybank. Why risk breaking the piggybank?Wales wrote:Not surprised. Re: Alverez cotto 2
Agreed, usually everything thats wrong with boxing. For some bizzare reason i personally think this will be exception to the rule. Nobody else for either to fight really, both want it. Fully believe it'll be made for October ish.Lancenix wrote:I am not so sure it will happen. Boxing only has one PPV star. Does HBO really want their only PPV boxer to lose. If ggg wins they have 2 ppv fighters. Canelo can lose and as long as he doesn't get completely destroyed he is still a ppv fighter. With the win, GGG becomes a legit ppv fighter as well.
Re: Alverez cotto 2
I clearly stated it was in the middleweight limit, you know, under 160lbs. It's above the Jmw limit so as long as both fighters agree I don't see the issue.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:SNG wrote:Why? The whole promotional outfit pretty much depends on Canelo.
Unless one of his up and comers gets established he will try and come up with a reason to delay.
I have no doubt Canelo wants the fight as much as the fans but Oscar pays his wages so he's got to go along with it.

He can lose to GGG and still remain a money generating machine. If he ducks GGG, it can affect him worse than a loss.PredatorHayds wrote:He's the Golden Boys, Golden boy.Wales wrote:Anyone whos ever had anything to do with the sport knows that the fighters themselves believe theyre, unquestionably, the best. Re: Alverez cotto 2
I do... That means they both duck GGG... Cotto for a 1.5 years and Canelo for a year after Martinez ducked him for nearly 4 years.. They can fight who they want but these guys are two long plugs of horse manure and the fans are the marching band behind the horses.SNG wrote: Why?
