Dereck Chisora vs Dillian Whyte
Dereck Chisora vs Dillian Whyte
Personally I think this is a good solid fight and could be a goer as a headliner so long as there was a strong co main event of similar standing. Both are well known to the fans, bring it, and could do a decent sized London venue.
Neither is a world beater but it wouldn't be over in two rounds, there is already some kind of 'beef' between the two and they are both good talkers and would sell the fight. The press conferences would be great.
Murray-Groves seemed to happen because we talked about it. Maybe if we bang the drum we'd get this one as well?
Anybody else like this fight? How do you see it going?

Depends if Del turns up motivated or not.
If he does he outboxes Whyte to a points decision around 115-113.
There's a high chance he won't though which would end in a Whyte stoppage.

If it happened it would generate a lot of interest.

Re: Dereck Chisora vs Dillian Whyte
Good 50/50 fight....If Chisora trains I think Whyte would gas himself out towards the championship rounds and it could get tasty. hard one to call as there a lot of variables in terms of the conditions and mentality of each fighter. If both come in at their best then Chisora wins possibly late stoppage or points.
Re: Dereck Chisora vs Dillian Whyte
Whyte on points I reckon. Would be a big of a battle early on then Whyte to pull ahead. Build up would be good. Both characters.
Re: Dereck Chisora vs Dillian Whyte
Why's everyone so impressed with Whyte? Chisora is several levels above anyone he's beaten.

I always read this about Chisora & you have to wonder why it's necessary for so many people to preface their conclusions about Chisora with this.PredatorHayds wrote:Depends if Del turns up motivated or not.

If he can't motivate himself for any fight at this stage in his career, then he might as well go back to selling second hand cars.
As for him against Whyte, he might just have a chance, as Whyte is not a world class HW & we all know Chisora can't beat those.

I'd favour Whyte, just. He seems more ambitious and carries a dig.
Chisora has been sleepwalking through his career for some time now.

Easy one for Whyte, I think Pulev Whyte would be a lot more interesting

He needs some better wins before even considering that.asdfjkl wrote:Easy one for Whyte, I think Pulev Whyte would be a lot more interesting

Re: Dereck Chisora vs Dillian Whyte
The way of how he won says quite a lot as well, never a lucky decision, allways KOing his opponends pretty fast, except for Anthony Joshua then, but still performed the best of all Joshua's contenders in Joshua's professional history.BitPlayer wrote:He needs some better wins before even considering that.asdfjkl wrote:Easy one for Whyte, I think Pulev Whyte would be a lot more interesting
Re: Dereck Chisora vs Dillian Whyte
Yeah but look at who he fought. The best win is a 40 year old Brian Minto. He should fight someone like Mansour or Gerber next. And Joshua's alo faced noone, Whyte looked good compared to Gary Cornish and Charles Martin (though only because Martin went down so easy).asdfjkl wrote:The way of how he won says quite a lot as well, never a lucky decision, allways KOing his opponends pretty fast, except for Anthony Joshua then, but still performed the best of all Joshua's contenders in Joshua's professional history.BitPlayer wrote:He needs some better wins before even considering that.asdfjkl wrote:Easy one for Whyte, I think Pulev Whyte would be a lot more interesting

Well, Parker fought similar guys and look at where he's standing atmBitPlayer wrote:Yeah but look at who he fought. The best win is a 40 year old Brian Minto. In a fight against Takam, a big step up for him? Not Pulev.asdfjkl wrote:Well, Parker fought similar guys and look at where he's standing atmBitPlayer wrote:Yeah but look at who he fought. Re: Dereck Chisora vs Dillian Whyte
Del's looking very shopworn these days, he'd obviously still fancy his chances against an up and comer like Whyte, but I think Whyte is just too fresh for him and can hurt him enough to make him go into his shell. Think Delboys best fights are a few years ago now.

Re: Dereck Chisora vs Dillian Whyte
Takam is pretty much a top 10 contender, no clue why he lost about 1/3rth of his rating last week, but fighting a top 10 contender and having the odds according to the bookies is quite impressive. Whyte might be ranked low, but he's showing better results against similar opposition.BitPlayer wrote:In a fight against Takam, a big step up for him? Del is done, if not careful hes the next Danny Williams. British scene is poor when you take out AJ, Haye and Fury, so maybe a fight with Hughie could give him a few quid to retirement.

Re: Dereck Chisora vs Dillian Whyte
Chisora probably came out of the womb disinterested, he's just one of those types.

You could be right here....I can see Delboy being in this sport for too long and taking some punishment. Once he starts fighting again for the British title will tell you he is the next DW
Re: Dereck Chisora vs Dillian Whyte
I often wondered whether Fwank thought Chisora wasn't going anywhere and just kept cashing him out or just plain disliked him, the way he threw him in at the deep end so often. He managed him carefully the usual bunny way to start with: Sexton, Baker, Williams... Then he was just thrown to Wladamir, a fight that never happened but Del definitely wasn't ready for. A peak Wladamir! Ridiculous. Del then got the Fury fight but was really fat and unmotivated because of the two Wlad fights falling through. He then gets 'fed' to Helenius , a fight he really wasn't given much of a chance in, then fed to Vitali, then fed to Haye.TopGun wrote:mimmy123 wrote:Del is done, if not careful hes the next Danny Williams. I suppose you can look at like he got a lot of opportunities. Or you can look at like he got a lot of opportunities to get beaten up.

Even the first Sexton fight was pretty risky.clopixolacuphase wrote:I often wondered whether Fwank thought Chisora wasn't going anywhere and just kept cashing him out or just plain disliked him, the way he threw him in at the deep end so often. Re: Dereck Chisora vs Dillian Whyte
Sadly one of those guys who will be best remembered for his defeats. Great performance against Helenius where I thought he won and a good showing against Vitali. Unfortunately he went to the well in those fights and then got chinned by David Haye. Hasn't ever looked the same or particularly interested since.

Chisora on points
I really don't see Whyte as anything more than British level.

Re: Dereck Chisora vs Dillian Whyte
Only Haye has KOd Chisora, Fury wore him down too. Both are far better than Whyte. Chisora for all his faults looks like he can stick it out when required.
Both look solid Euro level fighters. Would be an even fight, but the press conferences and build up would be the most entertaining part.
Furthest Whyte has been is 7 against Joshua, so depends what engine he has in 2nd half of the fight.
Chisora points for me. Wouldn't gamble on it though
