Boxing Down To 1 PPV Fighter

UFC seems to be doing fine with PPV's and raking in A LOT of money. In fact UFC 200 could be historically record breaking. Of course people want to watch the event and will pay for it. They line up at bars for an hour in some places just hoping to get a seat. While boxing's PPV telecasts have dwindled to almost nothing. That just shows how many people do not care and will not pay for it.

Or they will watch stream for free.

That has been around for ages, there were black boxes in the 90's.No casual observer is huddled over a computer or phone by themselves watching a fight. Boxing is not a big sport here. Never will be again.

PBC have the right idea. Bring boxing back to the masses.

PBC is soon to be broke and there are lawsuits being filed and some have already been filed about the PBC series. It is totally in ruins right now. All the PBC brought for the large part was boxing junk to the masses.

After the PBC announced their Showtime card, people here were saying it was failing. Then they announced a few more basic cable/regular TV fights and all the talk went away.

What boxing junk did the PBC bring to the masses that wasn't already there?

If it's not the PBC, the only other boxing game in town (in the US) is HBO. Are you trying to infer that HBO possesses some integrity that the PBC doesn't?

All we ever asked for on this forum for years was big fights on regular TV. We're getting Thurman/Porter and a good portion of this board is trying to discredit it. Why?

With the odd exception a ppv fighter is usually a manufactured hype job, created for mainstream audiences. Give me Lomachenko free to view over Anthony Joshua V Dillion Whyte ppv anyday. Agree, boxing has a shriking demographic, but i think thats down to fragmentation of titles and promotional politics meaning best dont fight the best. UFC has hit our screens, also splitting fight fans. Boxing isnt drawing fans in US when you dont have any top fighters. Who's best you have, Thurman? Crawford? Hardly prime Tyson, Roy Jones, Bowe, Holyfield, Mayweather, of recent years are they.

UK have 12 current world champions, what do US have? 6? Wilder, Charlo, Thurman, Garcia, Crawford, Russel?

But Tyson, Oscar, Floyd and Manny Pacquiao were all ppv Stars were they manufacturered ?

Great effort from Al, it's just a UFC world. Haymon's investors lose hundreds of Millions and the UFc is about to make 3.5 to 4 billion.

I really dont see UFC 200 being a record-breaker now that McGregor is off the card. Jones-Cormier is a rematch and the undercard is nothing special so I think the UFC 100 all-time PPV record of 1.6 million for Lesnar-Mir is out of reach:

That's why Dana White is doing all this hype about selling UFC for $4 BILLION to overseas corporations. UFC 200 is not a strong enough card to keep the public's interest on its own!!
