PPV failure a good news. It will hopefully put a lead on Canelos diva demands in GGG negotiations.

Don't believe a word Glaser writes. Dan Rafael is a more credible source.

Per @GoldenBoyBoxing source, #CaneloKhan did slightly less than 600k HBO PPV buys, excellent for a fight most viewed as a mismatch. #boxing

That is same for GGG. "I feels great Max" just doesnt cut it anymore, not after so many years in USA. Kovalev is the one who made a great progress compared to others.

exactly. i mean, 90 % of floyds fortune is because of his big mouth, without his 24/7 talking and trash money talk floyd would never became a ppv star, cause his fighting simply was unatractiv to watch. i mean, no one has to talk trash, but at least learn the english, do a good interview, that fans understand. it is not to much to ask for. aside from training boxers have so much time left.

What about Pacquiao's success? Cotto? Tyson wasn't much of a talker neither. You don't necessarily need a mouth to sell, but you do need a hook whether it is your mouth or your excitement.

pacquiao and tyson are like the most action packed boxers ever...they dont need to talk at all, the action inside the ring is all what people want at the end. floyd was always 0 % action,so he needed the talking. canelo is about action, not on pacs or tyson action level, but canelo is entertaining. but for him a litle more communication would help, in this media orietented world.

Here is probably more realistic number:
Kevin Iole ‏@KevinI 1h1 hour ago
The @Canelo @AmirKingKhan PPV did 460k buys, including 145k on Direct & 230k on cable. Story to come soon.

Prime Tyson didn't from the usual (No one can beat me) mumbo. Tyson Lewis era was a different story. And Tyson's mouth isn't what put asses in seats. He could've not said a word and still sold PPVs.

I never said his mouth did, but the quiet Tyson was an HBO fighter. By the time he was doing ppv all the time he was a soundbyte a minute. Your point is valid, just a poor example.

Floyds PPV status was cemented with wins over Gatti and DLH, not spewing boring pseudo rap star bollix.

Precisely, looking like a serial killer and cracking heads is what made him a PPV star, plus some serious manipulation of the media from his team. Tyson was one of the best packaged fighters of all time, but the manner of his fighting made it all possible.
