If Crawford wins, should he than move to ww?

Post by Chepppaaa »

i mean if he beats postol, who is the clear #2 on my list, a prime postol, who ko'd matthysse, what is than left to prove.

i thought dulorme would be a very tough fight, it was no easy fight, but crawford won clear. you cant count out postol, but crawford is the favourite and it looks like he is going to win. who is than left: hard punching troyanowski, undefeated benavidez or omar. prvod is shot, matt past it.

i am watching vids of bena and omar, they no match for crawford. he needs to than step up to ww.

I think that you might be valuing the Crawford/Postol fight quite low. I do not think that Crawford is the forgone winner of this fight. If i were betting on it, I would most likely go with Crawford in a decision but this is going to be a really competitive fight. I'm actually excited for this fight and was very surprised how it was signed and sealed so quietly without any fanfare. This is one of the many fights Boxing fans wanted to see between the best and the best. I hope that it's a sign of a trend coming.

I'm a Bud fan like most people and i'm really nervous about this one. Postol is peaking and now showing some nasty power. If you can make Mattysse quit and refuse to beat the count, you're dangerous. Plain and simple.

If Crawford wins then he should stay at Light welterweight for a while and take on the best opponents that he can get.

Unless he can get a Mayweather or Pacquiao fight then there is no real reason to rush to welterweight.

If he dominates and/or KOs Postol, then he might want to consider moving up. Who else would be a challenge at that point? Figueroa and Broner are both PBC guys and Broner is probably moving up himself, as is Matthysse. Troyanovsky would be interesting but it's one of those fights I can't actually imagine happening. I guess Provodnikov would be possible but Crawford would be a massive favorite.

At 147 there are more options for him.

If he wants to. If he wants to stay at 140 a while that works too. I get the feeling he'll be moving up to Welterweight fairly soon. No real reason not to unless he just wouldn't feel comfortable at the weight for whatever reason.

He and Bradley have said they're not fighting each other. Who is he moving up for? Rios? Sotokarass? Canelo?

At 147 he could theoretically fight Brook or Khan, or Thurman and Garcia and Porter if they can get around the TR/PBC thing.

Yeah that would be his biggest obstacle. Most of the big names at Welterweight are under the PBC banner. I guess Jessie Vargas would be a solid opponent he could fight at 147 with not much difficulty in creating the matchup.

He won't rush into a fight against a big name if he moves up. I doubt that. He will probably take a warm up fight or two at welterweight until he gets comfortable at that weight. He will have to show dominance in these fights for his holders to feel comfortable in putting him in with big names.

If he really beats Postol decisively then Vargas could be considered a warmup fight for him at 147. Please no Crawford/Rios. Please.

Unfortunately for TC I don't think there's many options at either weight. If he beats Postol who else is there at 140? Matthysse and Ruslan seem to be on the slide. Broner and Figueroa are with Haymon. The other champion, Troyanovsky, is pretty much unknown. Burns is fighting for the WBA title but Crawford already beat him at 135.

At 147 Thurman, Porter, Garcia and Spence are all with Haymon. So is Khan, even though he seems to do his own thing a bit more. Crawford and Bradley said they won't fight each other. Hearn probably wouldn't put Brook in with him. That leaves Vargas for the WBO title or someone like Rios.

I know what you mean, but I have a suspicion that postol is closer in ability to Crawford than the style match will happen to let him show; I think he might look a little stiff next to Crawford and that crawfords fluid athleticism will shine.

People talk about GGG/Canelo and Kovalev/Ward being THE big fights. Crawford and Spence will fight, regardless of promoter drama, and it will be one of the greatest fights in history.

Can you imagine if that fight happened while both guys were young? Say next year? In my opinion, those two could end up having 3 or 4 fights together before they are done and make most of their money by using each other wisely. Crawford's mean streak won't give into Spence's constant pressure. Both guys are lightening. Both most likely southpaw most of the time against each other.

THIS IS THE FIGHT TO BE MADE. I just hope Postol doesn't do anything stupid and surprise us all again.

I don't think there's any doubt he will seriously consider go to 147 unless he loses to Postol, that could change things.
